Regarding Pouliot and Foligno


they either had to lock foligno up for several years or risk him walking away after this coming season on a 1 year deal

2.5-3 mil for him several years, or plug and play Pouliot for 1 year on the cheap


this move does 2 things, saves in the cap and creates a spot on the top 9 for a kid for the 2018-19 season

But the trade & then signing of Pouliot makes sense
We needed a top4 defenseman more than we needed Foligno
And we have plenty of forwards that are NHL ready (or will be soon)

I agree Bailey has Tons of Speed but I actually liked the way Baptiste looked more than Bailey

so likely a higher upside

But I'm a fan of what I've seen from both players
Bailey, at the very least, will be a faster Foligno
Maybe he can be Kane-like if he develops as a scorer...
without the acting like a jackass part though

About a year, and all of it either with a court case hanging over his head or on ACD.

I'm not saying he hasn't grown up a bit. There were no non-criminal things(too hungover to come to work) either this year.

I'm hopeful for the future, but let's wait at least 6 months of him free and clear of everything before we say anything. Don't want to jinx it.

He likes playing here and likes the city and the team, going by what I was told about him. He hasn't had any issues and as of now wants to stay here.
