At his age and stage no way he wasn't getting it. I was beating the Marleau drum yesterday but that 3rd year and NMC is a hard pass for me.

If he had more term I would agree but in the last year of his contract lowers the return meaning not as good a D-man. If JVR signs an extension then I agree

I stopped looking at things through Sabres/Bills-colored glasses a few years ago. Haven't watched a Bills game live in 2 years - DVR them, watch them later, fast-forward the entire game, only stopping for TD's, interceptions, and sacks - it's the only way I can stomach their games lately. And I've gotten into the nasty habit of DVR-ing Sabres games too, watching something else in the meantime, then fast-forwarding the entire game until I see a goal or fight. This is what Buffalo sports has reduced me to.

The Leafs could be in serious cap problems down the road. Right now, they are over the cap and they don't have Nylander, Marner, or Matthews signed to real money contacts.

How does it suck for Buffalo exactly? As far as I know we weren't in on him, by choice. The guy had like 40 something points last year, and he'll be 38 in September. We'll be fine.
