10.5 mill a year for a goalie, wow, just wow.
- SABRES 89

If anyone is worth it, it's Price

I wouldn't have wanted to be in Montreal's position
I think goalie is very important...
but paying one that much does hamstring u for sure

You don't need to pay 6 mil in guys to play with Matthews.

This is the mistake teams make. Matthews will make guys like Connor Brown, Hyman etc 20 goal guys

Just like I'd bet Nick Baptiste could score 20 if given the shot with Eichel.

The $$ should be used for Defense and centers

- sbroads24

Those are all good points
But Marleau will still be a good player for them

10.5 mill a is a joke and he's not worth that, more of a joke is what we are paying ROR.

Marleau would score 20 playing with Horton & Lupul!!!
Idk where this Hate is coming from
He's still a really good player
That's a great signing for stupid Toronto
3rd year might be pushing it...
but even then he'll still be like Cullen or Kunitz good
Just possibly overpaid if his goal scoring dips

- jdfitz77

he had the same amount of 5v5 scoring as gionta

he would not score 20 playing with horton and lupul, hes going to be 38 in september.

That's what the market bears for those players
I'm fine with the O'Reilly contract

Like I said, I wouldn't wanna pay a goalie that much
But why were they gonna do, trade him?
I don't see how they could even consider that after moving PK last summer

I hope Botterill still plans on adding another LW. I like Puliot in the 3 hole. Still feel we need another top 6 LW unless they think bailey or Rodriguez can fill that role

The #Capitals have re-signed RFA Evgeny Kuznetsov:

Length: 8 years (max)
Value: 62.4M
Cap hit: 7.8M

Johansen is about to get his 8 mil lol

Depending on the cost, I'd be calling the Caps on Kuznetsov and Burakovsky.

7.8 this is getting more laughable by the minute. I guess Jagr is worth 5 mill a yr now.

The Leafs could be in serious cap problems down the road. Right now, they are over the cap and they don't have Nylander, Marner, or Matthews signed to real money contacts.
- Sabres4848

My thoughts exactly. This deal makes no sense with all of the young stars they will need to sign to LTD's. They must be moving a couple guys out. JVR for sure with this signing maybe mire

That contract is honestly insane. He has 3 seasons, one really good one and two decent ones (33, 77, 59 points)

im not saying he wont score 20, im saying paying 6.25 mil for 3 years was bad. They could plug in one of their rookie guys on that line and get that production

I think Burakovsky is a solid idea.

Have no idea what it would take

Eh. O'Reilly makes 7.5 to be our #2 C.

I'd take Kuznetsov probably

I think tie goes to the centre. and he brings a little better all around play 5v5 than kuznetsov. well except assists

edit: didnt realize kuznetsov was the C lol. still..

Their cap situation may preclude them from getting exactly what they may want.
