I wish I was wrong but don't count on next season being the Sedins last one. Those 2 are in really good shape and have been told from JB and TL that they can play as long as they want. - Kaynine

I for one don't expect next season as their last one.
As for 'they want' they won't play just to be hanger ons either.
They r not Guy Lafleur after all. Pride will make them retire.
Daniel who is whom i will scrutinize to no end as the weak link. |

Honestly, for me, Henrik is actually the weaker link and the one who should be scrutinized the most. As a center, he is the one with the most responsibilities and the biggest area of defensive coverage and the one who drives the play. Daniel is supposed to be a trigger man, not someone who drives play or has the most defensive responsibilities. Truthfully, I see Daniel as the one who will want to retire at the end of this season with Henrik wanting to stay on. |

Henrik could be better yes but Daniel is useless without him & is not the trigger man he once was & drags Hank down with him. That said a C does have to drive the play & until Hank plays without Daniel i cannot say he is the problem. |

Sorry man, don't mean to laugh but when you don't have a heat pump (which are awesome) you don't miss it when it doesn't work.

Everyone happy with the last 2 weeks in canuck land?
I thought the draft went well considering we lost the lottery. I don't have the same rock-hard boner that some have around here about our free agency signings but I wanted Yakapoo so what the (frank) do I know... |

Do you like any of the invitee prospects at development camp?
Flyers got themselves a good one when they signed Phillippe Myers as an undrafted 18 year old, during this small window. |

My parents had one in our cottage when growing up. It would have been a pressure cooker if it wasn't for that pump. Great in the winter too!
I was just thinking about those poor (frank)ers in places like south west US, anywhere in coastal south america, southern Europe, Africa, India, south east asia, etc. etc. where 40 degree summers are a norm.
No wonder there's so much tension in those parts of the world.

when the sedins got here and for quite a few years after henrik did nothing and danny was the strong one. He came out production wise 1st.
At the end of their careers he see henrik with greater production than danny.
It always evens out with these 2 |

Too be honest I'll start to pay attention after first cuts. If there is an invitee still in the mix I'll invest the time to find out who he is.
This training camp will be fantastic. Lots of new, promising faces that will probably start filling out the canucks roster in a few years.
I don't put as much hope in the draft (beyond the first three picks) as some. My hope lies within the canuck's player development team. These kids/invitees have enough to get them to the show but the organization has to be professional enough to develop correctly. If they don't then it doesn't matter who the player is or how they got to camp, it will fail and we'll get to watch another ten years of wheel spinning. |

Part II:
I like them young. very young. Fill the room with young flesh.
This free agency seemed to have lots of under 25 players that had promising starts to their NHL careers. Is that true or am I dreaming this?
I almost put the effort into doing a roster of just the under 25 UFAs. You would have had a pretty good roster based on draft placement only (not necessarily skill level). |

Ya, a long standing Canuck tradition of not developing kids in minors(or other leagues) has been haunting this team.
Utica will be an interesting team for the next few seasons. |

Since I started paying for games back in 98/99 I've been treated pretty well in regards to watching prospects develop into meaningful difference makers. They also did well with reclamation projects like the west coast express line.
[insert player list here]
the drafting's been absolute poop. horse poop. embarrassing. But the player development/coaching at both levels wasn't that bad at all IMO. |

The drafting has been garbage. When I think of developing of young players I think of Neely Sandlak and most recently Jake and McCann, 1st round picks, being rushed into nhl. |

I disagree to a certain extent, I don't think this team have properly developed their players since the team had the moose as a farm team.
Kesler, Burrows, Bieksa, Schneider, Raymond, Edler, Grabner,Brown, Bourdon developed properly and none were considered draft steals except for perhaps Schneider. All those guys paid there dues and earned thier promotions. Things started going downhill developmentally when Gillis came in and Benning hasn't made it a priority yet either but perhaps this is changing. |
