still think they are, Chris McFarland was the Assistant GM of CBJ when the Nash situation went down. Same sort of time line, ultimately not moving till the end of July even though they were tryign to move him during the season.

He is with the Avs now working with Sakic, im sure they are leaning on him and his experience in the Nash trade with this one

Different time and era when it comes to the returns, at the time that was a pretty big haul and what CBJ was asking, eventually the Rangers met the demands bc he had a NTC, tougher to move when Nash would only waive it for only Rangers and Sharks I believe.

Have no idea what Sakic is asking for, its always the rumours coming from another teams beat writers of what was talking about and turned down, nothing is coming from the Avs side or from their beat writers.

I think the package and demands are being over blown by leaks, just like the Hamonic stuff which turned out not to be true according to Dater.

All that is really known is Avs are looking for a 25 and under Dman to be part of the deal. That is the sticking point, so if guys are offering Hamonic, that doesnt fit their demands right off the hop bc its not what they need to help solidify their D core long term

I dont hate him, he has done some nice small moves over the past 12 months inheriting Roys inspired mess.

Needs to be better and not so passive but finally setting on a direction of speed and skill and not the big body chip and chase Roy wanted, shifting from that takes time
