There are, but this one is actually run tight by most standards. The Oilers blog you can actually convince people to kill themselves. - golfingsince

shut up the rebuilding crowd pretty quickly
Just needs to sign Taylor Pyatt, cam Barker and Steve Bernier. - Nucker101
It is really too much of a coincidence at this point ...be interesting to see how many first rounders each team has on their roster |

Just watched all of the video's from J.C. Pong's instagram.
Is it just me or is there a lot more players now a days that aren't very good at skating?
There was a couple players that weren't fast but were clearly better skaters then most.
Kids these days seem to be worse skaters then say 10 years ago. |

They are calling it a hometown discount now after all the reporting of $13.4M. Maybe Oil pressed to give a little now that they will have to shell out for LD around $9M. - Nuck4U
He is from Ontario. PC went on to say he would have paid Connor 13.5 and up if he demanded it, but the focus of their negotiations was the Stanley cup. Connor could have fetched 14 million a season IMO if he really wanted to. |

Minny has 15.9 in cap space and 6 players to sign including Granlund Nino and Foligno |

Yup. Or he could have said I'm only signing a 5 year deal and then made big time bank as a pending UFA. |

Jeez, 9 years is a lot of time to have to spend in Edmonton, even with $100M... |

It's the opposite actually ...the game has become so fast that everyone needs to work on their skating to be competitive
10 years ago you still had slugs from the pre lockout era playing |

Sutter Gagner and Loui are all signed for the next three years.
I imagine Bo Boeser Dahlen Goldobin and Petterssen will all be signed .
Sven and Granlund could very well be part of the team in three years That leaves two spots . So assuming it will be Lind and Gaudette may be a little premature. - VANTEL
Yeah it's hard to project that far who will be around or able to make it out of propects.
Took it you meant 3 years from now as in 2020. By then Gagner's contract would be up and if not extended very well traded at TDL. With Sutter having a year left and LE 2 they could get dealt in the offseason.
But even if not, there would be room for Lind and Guadette. They play a good two way game and heavy on the puck with grit to their speed and skill. So a fit on any line wing or C.
Either way, it's a nice problem to have with more high end prospects and vets battling it out for spots. |

I'm talking about the prospects. The players from junior leagues. I know the game has become faster but a lot of prospects skating looks like it needs a lot of work. |

That's the media's label on "home town". We all know where he's from it's who he is playing for as in discount. So the sacrifice discount was for other Oiler players to form a winning team. Biggest one being LD when we see his contract. |

I would hope/think that those three being here in three years is actually pretty unlikely. I agree with the rest. |

He is not Hight end, Drouin is higher end and he got 5.5. Galch just got 4.9x3. Bother of these guys are comparables for Bo with Bo having less upside. I forsee either a bridge of 3years 4.25 or a 6-7 deal for 5.2ish - Retinalz
Hope you are right on contract those deals look great. Especially 7 years at $5.2M would be awesome. |

That because the nhl is faster thus making the prospects looking slower .... |

I think they agreed on this deal long ago but used the media to "report" a potential new deal as a PR move to make it look like Connor took less so all are happy with the deal - Redmile247
Maybe...so will they leak $10M for LD and he signs for $9M a hero? |

How many prospects always talk about improving their skating before they get to the NHL. You are right, the prospects are probably as slow as they have ever been the NHL has just become faster. Reason why players like McDavid and Larkin have early success because they are better skaters then their peers. |
