I don't see them moving him. Niskanen might be a more realistic target, so they can use that money to re-sign Carlson |

Tomas Tatar - homiedclown
I don't think we have a chance of getting him but he's good for 25 goals a season.
He's 26 right now. I think he is the player he always will be, maybe an outlier season since he just hit his prime. But in a contract year, he didn't have a career season and he's in arbitration lingo probably... I don't know how it will play out for Detroit but they have just over 2 million in cap space as you pointed out earlier.
Evander Kane is looking for 6 million for similar production at the same age. Tatar is probably hoping for at least 5. Maybe we trade them straight up and its a good hockey trade but then we're still down a LW.
We're not going to tender him and Detroit would ask too much in a trade.
But he'd actually be perfect here, IMO. |

tatar filed for arbitration this week
he made 2.75 mil last season
wings have under 2.3 mil in cap space right now |

He is their highest scorer but has been rumored to be available for the last 18 months. Wings have $9Million tied up at goalie (both suck).
His production is in fact nearly identical to Kane's. Hmmm. |

Too lazy to look. Is he the only piece they need to fill the roster? He could get a decent raise taking most of the remaining money even with franzen on ltir |

Duclair might have fallen out of favor in the desert. Would we take a chance w him on a budget deal? |

Looks like Athanasiou is only other player left for them to sign. I'm down with Tatar. Like Mantha better. I think either will require the Sabres to take on one of Detroit's bad hombre contracts.
365, check out Mantha's 5v5 scoring. Holy S, he's an even strength scoring machine. |

Sabres should look to make a deal with Islanders for Calvin De Haan who just filed for arbitration. Send them a prospect and one of our arbitration headaches. - rotor
Sabres should focus on getting a damn winger to play with O'Reilly. They have enough defensemen. |

Right totally agree. Looked silly and it was at times, but was very serious too. Enjoyed it, I was entertained. |

This sounds great. I can only guess if that is all NYI wanted for De Haan that this deal would have been done by some team. |

As much as we want to trade Reinhart for a top end D, I think I want to sit pat for now. If we can get him signed on a bridge deal (3 years maybe $4.5m per) I think he can be a strong piece for us. If someone is willing to give up a top 2 D for him, I doubt that D is top 2. You just dont give those guys up. |

I still want to know the cost of Muzzin or Martinez. Martinez could be a legitimate number 2 guy to cover for Risto. |
