Completely agree with this. My comment was if that trade did happen he does have value, not as a Canuck but with adding assets with trading him.
- Kaynine

If that is the case Tanev will help the team more now than JVR would, also Tanev will get you more at the deadline than JVR would. It is a trade for the sake of trading. I am not into that. Tanev's value is high, JB needs to stick to his guns and keep firm on his asking price or hold onto him.

What real tangable downside is there to having a Rat or 2 on your team?
Other teams players hate you? Other teams fans hate you? Neither of those points should amount to jack poop.

- Larsson_fan

Other than having the stigma that our team has had for to long. None. All those players are gone and we are still the most hated team in the league. People don't respect rats.

I'm not sure how you can compare how Tanev would help a team more the JVR, 2 different positions. You don't know what a teams needs are at that time. JVR is a 25-30 goal guy with size and on an expiring contract. I am not taking away from what Tanev offers, I like his game actually but if the rumours had any truth to it....

Tanev for JVR/2 or 3 round pick and a d prospect??

Then turn around and move JVR for a 1st and prospect or a mid round pick then the trade would turn into...

Tanev for 1st/2 mid round picks and a prospect

Can Tanev secure you that haul on his own right now?

Youre not all that hated, to be honest. Not to be a Richard, but the Canucks were hated because they were (frank)ing good. Now? Not so much...tho you wont get any sympathy from outside BC.

I wonder if Booner has to evacuate? Too many dam fires. A fire started about 8 KM from our house but the neighbours band together with the fire department and got it out. I really don't want to have to evacuate from another city. Thats stressful sh!t.

Dam shame. Climate change is real. Be safe.

I am not the oldest on here, but i remember almost every summer as a kid travelling with the parents and seeing the Cariboo burning . Night driving would see the mountain tops glowing red and would even see the charred tree trunks next to the highway from the previous years burn. This area in summer is often like a can of gas waiting for a match. Luck to all who have property through there and relations.

There has been fires as long as I have been alive. Pine beetle epidemic has played a major roll in this.

No to JVR. He wouldn't be happy here and would be a flight risk the first chance he gets.
- bloatedmosquito

JVR could be flipped at the deadline. Could get a 1st + easy.

I'm surprised we didn't hear from Van that he was leaving or that his contract was up.

We did last year. The team came out and said he would be leaving and that said he would remain with the team in Utica for now. It was only a matter of time.

Change is good. I wish him the best.

It's been much worse in the past. Been getting better for a few years. 2004 was the worse in my memory(i was in south cariboo then)... The el-nino/la-ninas are so tight together now it's hard to predict but we are lucky to have had a nice wet spring... been dry for a couple of weeks now though... right on scheduled. Will be dry with isolated thunder storms(fire starters) for the month before it settles into just hot and on fire with swarms of horseflies..
