That's not the choice of personnel the Canucks face.
It's Megna, Gaunce, Chaput and DD over Boucher, Rodin, Goldy and Burmistrov among the vets. JV is the outlier who may not be ready like MacEwen. - Nuck4U
Congrats Einstein . Ding ding ding.
I am telling you change the personnel.
We are bringing back the the Sedins to mentor. Not one but two of them at what I imaging will be about 8 -10 mil next year but then as Don points out earlier you need someone to help their deficiencies .

IT is just a trend. The cap has little to do with it. Veteran grinders are as cheap as bonus laden ELC's.
We are only a few seasons removed from aLosANgeles/NEw York final. WE can be talking about Heavy hockey being the only way to win just as easily 2 years from now - Larsson_fan
Not a trend with fundamental game changes. When heavy comes back it's because those guys have speed and skill to match. |

Disagree. You will always need skill to score goals....but you can still win without a lot of it. |

What fundamental Game changes occured in the last 4 seasons that cant be manipulated by a great system and the right coach and players?
I call Bullpoop.it just a lazy observantion. |

I want player change just as much as you. Just being realistic about the choices now. |

In the West three teams that been regular challengers at the cup have been Ducks Sharks and Kings all big teams.
Oilers now are a big team and trending. Flames had size and are trending up. Hawks had some size and grit also don't fool yourself .
Nashville finally make a good year and time to change so we can catch up |

So how does extending the Twins or going after Miller explain change?
I like Dahlen Pettersson Gadjovich Gaudette but that is three years away. So in the meantime we get to watch boring hockey? |

The BS is you missed the explanation in the original post on previous page. But maybe you believe bigger and slower is back because of the Eberle trade. |

If Benning is trading Tanev for one year service of JVR or Kane then he will be ran out of town. Wait until they are UFAs .
Give your head a shake guys. If you are trading Tanev think long term help , not provide Leafs cap relief. - VANTEL
I agree but....it's the asset plus what JVR is with at the deadline. Any trade should be explored |

Pretty much. Team is gonna be poop no matter what. Green might have that new coach effect and the team will play above their heads for awhile but they'll suck ass in 2018 and probably 2019 too. |

It's not about the Preds or Pens. Size with speed and skill to match will survive the new pace of the game. |

Don't be so hasty with Gaunce. I could easily see him scoring 2-3 goals if they put him in a position to succeed with quality linemates - CanuckDon
The Gaunce thing... funny... |

Tanev would bring in more via trade, even with his ntc. |

God no. Its because we've seen it shift and change dozens of times over the past 40 years. The biggest evolution in hockey over the past half century isnt the atheletes or equipment, its developing systems.Quit taking it so personal, this arguement has nothing to do with my being an Oilers fan. It's unbecoming of you to resort to such cheap heat. |

There certainly are options there, I like the fact he can play all three forward positions. It will be interesting to see how Green utilizes his skill set.
Burmistrov may also push Guance. - VanHockeyGuy
Getting the feeling Gaunce may be playing in Utica. |

NBA contracts are F'n ridiculous.
James Harden
$228 million -- 4 Year contract.
that is stupid money

Seriously what asset? What do people think we are going to get for Tanev?
I am sure if people think we are getting JVR and a guy like Brown they are dreaming.
It would be JVR and a 50th OA or something . Better deals to be had. |

New TV contract...owners can afford it. Plus NBA teams only have 12 man rosters and you can't win without a legit superstar or 2 so you have to pay up. |
