So how does extending the Twins or going after Miller explain change?
I like Dahlen Pettersson Gadjovich Gaudette but that is three years away. So in the meantime we get to watch boring hockey? - VANTEL
It is what it is for now. But Sedins are not extended and Miller was not offered 2 years and more $ so he's not here. I hope the change coming increases talent and entertainment. Winning is step two. |

Seriously what asset? What do people think we are going to get for Tanev?
I am sure if people think we are getting JVR and a guy like Brown they are dreaming.
It would be JVR and a 50th OA or something . Better deals to be had. - VANTEL

NBA contracts are F'n ridiculous.
James Harden
$228 million -- 4 Year contract.
that is stupid money - classic321
Compare the NBA tV deals with that of Hockey and you'll see why.
Also, for every McDavid Jersey sold the NBA sells 500 Currie's. |

Plus most NBA stars have more personality in one finger than entire NHL teams have on one roster. |

New TV contract...owners can afford it. Plus NBA teams only have 12 man rosters and you can't win without a legit superstar or 2 so you have to pay up. - Nucker101
Its the Term that gets me
$228 million over 4 years.
4 F'ing years......... Give me a break |

He basically controlled the entire negotiation. By the time the contract is up, he'll still be a superstar and cash out with one more big contract + the choice to play in basically any city. Smart move by him. |

I wonder if Booner has to evacuate? Too many dam fires. A fire started about 8 KM from our house but the neighbours band together with the fire department and got it out. I really don't want to have to evacuate from another city. Thats stressful sh!t. - thundachunk
I'm good Thunder. The little fires around here are more controllable from the wet spring. My father is living in our cabin down around 100 Mile though. He was in the bar yesterday and the fire department came in and told everyone to get ready to evac. Scary... I have a friend in Lac Le Hache who just got ordered to evac... he's hoping his beater little house burns down though because he's had no luck selling it 3 years straight :D There's a lot of that in the Cariboo. It's how you do home improvements here :D

God no. Its because we've seen it shift and change dozens of times over the past 40 years. The biggest evolution in hockey over the past half century isnt the atheletes or equipment, its developing systems.Quit taking it so personal, this arguement has nothing to do with my being an Oilers fan. It's unbecoming of you to resort to such cheap heat. - Larsson_fan
Again, see post previous page. Put it all together. They all impact that plus more changes. The only trend I see now is having your 6 D made up of smallish puck movers and the PP QB. We'll see how that goes. The pace, speed and need to score throughout the line up is more of a progression change. |

Apparently Paul George will be the next Mega contract
If he makes any NBA "All NBA TEAM" he can make like $65 million more on his next contract.
Dumbest rule I have ever heard of. You win a popularity contest among the media and it allows you to earn $65 million more |

What the (frank)? No denying there... 2004 was the worse season I have ever seen... remember when Barrier burnt down? We had 3 weeks of 40 weather that summer.
I mentioned how close the El-Ninio's are together now... acknowledgement...
Take your act somewhere else.

Trade the picks for D, I'm sure Benning would listen to 2 1sts and a 2nd. |

I will concede to that. No system will likely be developed to make a player of ,say,Darien Hatcher's ilk dominant or even effective. |

How many times does one have to tell us that it is new nhl speed skill blah blah blah
By the time we catch up to a few of these teams that have gone this route the league will have changed again.
Just build a team with skill speed and some snarl quit this building or gifting roster spots to pussies. - Reubenkincade

Finally after 3 years we are starting to see some positives come about in the last four months . Every single positive has been about change.
Every time they have tried to build around the twins it has bit them in the ass . Canucks need change . Johnny Torts gave us that heads up three years ago. |
