Even more so what Utica's roster looks like is high on my agenda.
Still cannot get over the last few months of the TDL & Draft & UFA's & where it will lead. Escaping the fact we have a ton of wingers with not enough spots i'm curious to what style of system TG will install. Upbeat & fast forcing the play or more conservative playing from our end out building up the rush? Prolly more prudent to play team D & more conservative in the early going but i like more free wheeling
& attacking on the counter like the Pens do. That won't happen with the roster we most likely will see. As the year progresses i do see that happening as inevitable injuries etc factor in.

It's very hard to play the Pens style when you don't have Crosby/Malkin driving your offense. Not many teams can boast the talent and depth they have at center. I expect TG to be a lot like WD at first, conservative, probably will have the team play dump and chase at lot at first while he gets used to the roster and sees what works and gets the young guys to buy into what he's trying to do. Most new NHL coaches that come from the AHL (or CHL) tend to try and simplify their systems unless they came from the organization and have most of their players graduate from the AHL (like AV did).

Where did I say we did? If I remember the last time we tried was Luongo . They have also tried I think to pass us off Lupus.

Leafs have dealt with other teams and the deals were horrible. You are assuming I meant us but we all know what happens when you assume .

I was basing my opinion on the rumour Tanev for JVR 2/3 and a prospect. You should be able to move JVR for something similar to what Hanzal got. Combine those and it's more the what Tanev would return on his own.
