It's very hard to play the Pens style when you don't have Crosby/Malkin driving your offense. Not many teams can boast the talent and depth they have at center. I expect TG to be a lot like WD at first, conservative, probably will have the team play dump and chase at lot at first while he gets used to the roster and sees what works and gets the young guys to buy into what he's trying to do. Most new NHL coaches that come from the AHL (or CHL) tend to try and simplify their systems unless they came from the organization and have most of their players graduate from the AHL (like AV did).

Tough to call trades before they go down these days. Lou Lamorello for example calls off deals which are leaked by his potential trade partner.

over on CDC a Pittsburg blogger/fan says the Pens offered Hagelin/Pouliot/and a 2018 first for Tanev and thats from a Pens fan

the buzz is Pittsburg/Buffalo and TO are all wanting him , so GMJB should be able to up the price . And IMO i don't see how the Islanders would not be in the mix for him too

his point totals weren't great. he played on a good team that one. his ppg was virtually the same as Sutter's. all those assists on 1st cup run was a 3C behind 2 greats. also playing with an elite shooter in Kessel. He had 4 goals that whole playoff. 2years ago..
