How is it a win when you give up a first round pick ( one of the best drafts )
And you have molasses and his bad contract that we all hate
And 2 bust propects
The only thing great is guhle thats it - GERBE!!!75PTS
You truly are special. You are discounting a top 15 goalie just because you don't like the trade? Please tell me you don't understand why people don't take you seriously |

We don't know what Lehner is yet
He was a top15 goalie last year...
but that was just 1 year
Let's see how this one goes
He might not even be with us in '18-19 |

The 1/2 of Ho-Sang is relevant. Had the pick they got Vanek been the pick used to draft Ho-Sang I would agree but here they had to move an additional high second round pick to get his so it does play into account here.
Who cares? 95 percent of the conversation here doesn't matter if you didn't care why comment? - Stripes77
Just seems like u guys are arguing over nothing
The trade is what it is at this point |

Thoughts on the Sabres letting both Drury and Briere leave for nothing?
And who won the Kassian/CoHo trade? |

If Pouliot plays with Eichel,
he better get a minimum of 40pts
Hopefully they can get line combos sorted out in Training camp
As it stands now, the depth chart looks something like this:
LW. CENTERS RW.
Kane. Eichel. Reinhart.
Pouliot. O'Reilly. Okposo.
Moulson. Larsson. Pominville.
Girgensons(c/w)
Josefson(c/w)
Deslauriers(w)
So that's 12 forwards
Room for 1, maybe 2 more on the NHL roster
Tbd whether or not any of the kids are ready...
Guys like Bailey & Baptiste probably are, but it also makes more sense to have them play in Rochester if they aren't gonna be in the top9 here - jdfitz77
I hear you, I'm just skeptical of Pouliot. He hasn't hit 40 points in a season yet. I know a couple years were cut short with injuries and he could of hit 50 points in some of those seasons, but that is not a guarantee that he will produce in Buffalo. If he isn't producing hopefully one of the kids is able to fill the LW void in the top 6. From what everybody seems to be saying, Bailey looks bigger with just as much speed. If he can produce I would love to see him as the 2nd line LW. |

Yeah... I'm not worried about the Cap Space
I just don't know if he's our long term goalie
Still to be determined imo |

He's not a top 15 goaile if he was the sabres would not be drafting a goaltender and saving one
The 2015 pick was just dumb every one said it was going to be the best draft ever etc
And we tossed away first round picks like candy |

For sure
Seems like he's a 15-20goal scorer,
so if he plays with Jack I'd expect over 40pts
But I'm with ya
If a kid like Bailey or Baptiste can jump into the top6,
it'll only help

I agree with this. Pouliot seems like the ideal 3LW. Those untimely offensive zone penalties are a little concerning. For a guy that was drafted high and seems pretty talented, he sure has bounced around a bit in a short amount of time.
I'm slightly higher on Baptiste than Bailey because he seems like a better scorer thus far. But they're basically neck and neck. For one of these guys to earn his way to 2LW and thrive, would be spectacular. |

You are like the kid that got turned down by a girl and all of the sudden she is ugly and smells like asparagus.
And us drafting a goalie that is at a minimum 3 years out has NOTHING to do with lehner. You don't just stop picking goalies because you have a good starter. |

Crap. You're right. TB and TO will be the thorns in the sides of the Sabres for years to come. |
