we could never agree where the Lemmings fit. I agree they were simpler times but too many posters would jump from being jerkers to whiners (and back again) that it all became blurry. I blame Makita for not properly supervising.

Anyone know much about Will Butcher. Doesn't sound like he will be signing in Colorado after spending 4 years in college. Free-agent come August 15th. Might be worth a contract.

I wouldn't waste my time on Av scraps. If they didn't sign him then chances are they don't see any value in him at all. I've been reading what that Fatmarsh poster guy says about what sakic is doing. He fairly positive about what's going on, contradictory to what the experts are saying.

Sakic has been dumping what Roy had built; a big, truculent team that is slow as hell. If speed is the new NHL the Avs were going in the wrong direction. Chances are Butcher was a Roy guy and is now being jettisoned because he's doesn't fit into the mold of the new NHL player.

Ya you may be right. He is only 5'10" 190lbs though so I wouldn't consider him big, although he is 4" taller than me. ?

I was just making an assumption based on a general statement from a fan so in this instance I could be wrong. But alarm bells ring when a team as desperate as the Avs don't bother signing a player that's been developing for 3 or 4 seasons.

If the canucks are going to sign a player then I'm all for youth but they must have NHL potential. Our team has met it's quota for fringe NHL prospects. No need to waste a contract on another.

Sounds like Butcher may be turning down Colorado, doing what Schultz and Vesey et al have done.

I don't know anything about this kid either.
