I think you may want to blame Luongo for that, and that's all I was getting at, he's not that good and Nilsson could beat him out, but let them prove who's the better goalie - Makita

He was told him and Miller would split duties and that ended up being a pile of bulls&t, and it wasn't bcus he didn't cease the moment, he played as good as Miller, WD was just an idiot and kept going with Miller, even after Marstrom would win, he would go back to RM, it was stupid. You guys might be taking the word "deserves" a little too seriously, i just mean just give him a shot to earn a full time slot, otherwise why the f&*k we bring him here?? - Brooks_Light
I understood you meant it wasn't a level playing field and Marky deserves a shot to earn it. Despite one salacious pump and dump bias. Others, who may have misunderstood your phrasing, probably agree with you on him being able to earn it. He'll still have the competition to prove it but it won't be rigged. |

He is going to get a shot but as a goalie you have to take the ball and run with it. We brought him here as we have many others to "revive" their career.
He wasn't doing so $hit hot before he came over in the Luongo trade.
Also I never saw one game last year where he deserved more time than Miller. If wasn't for Miller we would have had 10 more losses because he stole 10 games that our $hit team had no business being in. Markstrom never stole one game last year, looked sub par in games he should have won and he got hurt...again.
I am not trying to bash him. I actually like him and believe he can be a starting goalie in the NHL but he has to believe it too. Ultimately if he wants the job he has go out and take it.

Really have you ever seen Subban play one NHL game, let alone 50+ of suspect defending.... didn't think so - Makita
I've seen him play in Utica. If you can't defend against Laplantes and Megnas you can't defend against NHL players |

That honestly sounds like a nightmare at this stage in my life.
Hat tip to the dude for being even able to string a sentence together, let alone write. |

he was definitely unique.
I also have a hard time imagining someone eating fettuccine alfredo in a hot tub. |

Markstrom was given a fair chance and didn't seize the opportunity, he is a mediocre goalie at best, you will get to see Markstrom the average soon enough.
Stecher is overrated by fans that can't see his defensive liabilities, he is the quintessential Benny Hill theme song of defense, running around not knowing what to do in his own zone.
I hope they give Subban a real chance like they did Stecher, he can't be worse defensively. And then make the judgement. - Makita
I'd hardly say 25 games was a 'fair chance' for Markstrom last season especially that WD kept going back to Miller after a Marky win…as for Stecher yes he comes with some defensive issues which I'm sure Green will work on. Most offensive-minded Dmen come with some liability. |

Yes well lets move on from last season & see what happens.
WD & Miller r no longer here. Lets see what Marky does with his chance.
He has himself a fresh start. 25 or 50 games last year wouldn't matter.
As for Stecher it was a rookie season & lets see what he learned.
He will be vertically challenged but adapt is the way to go. Students of the game improve & never stop working on improving. Everything need not be taught. TG & Baumer will help him no doubt i am sure. |

Millers starts after a Marky win was probably due to all the back to backs they played last year. Most in the league I believe wasn't it?
This season with very few back to back games that should help with Marky getting more starts in a row.
Any news on who is leading candidate to be the back up this season?
