why the f*ck would you "cut back" Horvat's role if you are Green. He was held back if anything under Willie last year. 30% of his starts were in the O-zone only, and he was deployed on the 2nd PP. If we take the "you get what you deserve approach" then give the kid 1st line minutes and 1st unit PP and stop babying the aging Sedins and give them what they deserve... 2nd/3rd line minutes and 2nd unit PP...

Of all the staleness on this stale roster, the 1st unit PP with the twins has to be the stalest of all.

Morning guys, hey how about JB goes looking for a few UFA's that he can pump and dump, or is that pick and flip and then he can get another pump and dump player.

With two pump and dumps and one pick and flip, there could be 3 new prospects that will get us to division champions, but if it's not working that way, JB can again do another two pump and dumps at the TDL and buy some really really talented players that will definitely put the team in the playoffs.

It so exciting to be a canuck fan right now with all the pump and dumps available, not to mention the pick and flips we could realize...oohh I'm so excited I'm giddy.

I think faceoffs and RH shot are essentially the core elements of Brown's favor. I agree though that Sutter shouldnt be on it. If you want a RH shot backside, Boeser. Gagner is also RH, takes draws and has spent some time in the middle of the ice on PP in CBJ

I thought Gagner was brought in to help the Sedins. The only thing the second unit pp needs is more ice time. The first unit needs help.

In all honesty I hope the kid does well. This team needs it's younger players to step up and put pressure on the vets. As long as there is no push from below, management's not going to rush to change roles and responsibilities quickly.

I go back and forth on it, because over the course of the season I could see them selling off most of their 9 pending UFA contracts, but I think they will be. I am not confident that VAN's coaching change, goalies, defense and scoring issues will see improvements from last season

Personally I think our scoring Woe's were largely WD's fault last season. He played Chaput and Megna in too many scoring situations that they are not good for. His line combinations sucked often. He was just a horrible coach.

Cutting his role back is a good idea. Not his ice time, just role. Take him off PK, put him on PP1, Less shut down and more offensive. Horvat was used in all situations last year, and used incorrectly in them. But cutting back his PK time you can increase his PP and Offensive starts.

The first unit should be our second unit. The Sedins are done, they can't compete anymore.

Our players suck but nobody sucks more than Willie. I think we will improve just based on ridding the organization of his incompetence. That and we have an ELITE 3rd line center.
