I lived in Melbourne....you will love it there. There is a stadium on every block.

asset management? How is that relevant if a player has no trade value? Is asset management relevant with Biega? I don't put much stock in relievers. Osuna is obviously amazing but that's exactly why he should be traded. The Nationals would pay a fortune. Keep Stroman and Sanchez because you build around young starters and positional players, not relief pitching.

I think that this trade deadline is really the first real opportunity for management to start turning over the roster and beginning the rebuild. If not a rebuild, I think a retool is possible, but not so sure that's the best decision to only half commit.

Bottom line is that this team needs a new look, new identity and in some cases new leadership.

I don't think they need to change that much, by new identity you mean, younger and faster. The problem is the changes they need to make are in the form of trying to move out huge contracts. Bautista, Tulo, Lariano, Estrada gotta go. Its f-ing stupid to suggest trading Osuna. Why? So then there's a massive hole in the closer position? And for what? to acquire a lead off hitter? Its not worth it and you're robbing from Paul to pay Peter, its idiotic. Sanchez, Stroman, Osuna, Travis are our strongest trade chips, but they are exactly the type of players the Jays need, so how can you justify trading them? I think the best plan is to try to slowly off the big contracts at the TDL and over the summer. This season is a wash, gotta start fresh next year.

Agree, and you can add Donaldson, Pillar, Happ, Morales and Martin to the list that can be shipped out. Trading high on Smoak might be good idea, but at the same time I could see him staying around.

What to do with Smoak is the toughest decision given his production and minimal salary... But is his value ever going to be higher? Likely not.
