That sounds like last year's script

If they can draw some penalties, with an improved PP, that would be their best play with who they have ready to go for the roster.

By the way nice wine grove.

Benning has had a good offseason, but the Canucks are still a bad team, and with where they are in the rebuild that's not a bad thing.

Funner to watch, youth and prospects improve, team finishes near the bottom. That will be a successful season as far as I'm concerned.

Amen to that. Though I don't fret over where they finish. But would like a lotto win for Dahlin.

I totally agree, but I hope people start to temper their expectations of Green, first long loosing streak and there will be people poopting on his lineups, Botchford will crucify him in the paper, talk shows will be hysterical.
- Makita

this would happen anyways regardless of how he does

Okay so. I am trying to learn to do back flips on the trampoline. Can anyone here actually do one?
- thundachunk

there is a science to it. Should be a tutorial online.
I know you have to tuck your legs in tight and timing is essential or else you land on the back of your neck

I have no expectations of Green. Right now I think he is our Dallas Eakins. If he can get us some wins and be better than WD I am fine with that.

He wasn't my choice. Personally I would have went in a totally different direction.

hes gonna be fine. Ive heard the right things from him to tell me he is a good coach

Meh I don't buy into because he says the right things make him a good coach. When his words come to fruition on the ice I will believe.

He is well spoken and says he has a good plan in what he wants from players but I need solid on ice proof from a rookie coach before I jump on any coaching bandwagon.

I was not impressed with the 'hiring process'.

I agree hiring process seemed bunk but that's not on Green.

I'm happy Green got a shot because I thought he did a good job in Utica but I don't expect any miracles. He likes his players in on the forecheck and expects all to play 200 ' games which WD was also preaching. I doubt we see a huge change in systems like when torts came in.

Biggest change that will impact this team is actual NHL depth and the likely Eriksson and Sedins bounceback imo.

Goalies might also drop off a cliff though....

I see an Eriksson bounce-back, as that is what he has done in the past. The Sedins are long on the tooth and will be lucky to match their numbers from last year.
Thank god Jarvis is still coaching, so all is not lost.

I don't think players will be taking liberties against us, but it has nothing to do with the Canuck's grit level. They aren't exactly a team that other teams are going to "get up" for. At best the Canucks are going to be at the low end of mediocre next season. Every opposing team's goal will be to get the two points and not get banged up.

The Canucks are going to have to learn a lot of back-up's tendencies if they want to score goals

As with any positive change, people try to adapt and show their best, I think the Sedins will match last years efforts and even surpass them a little. Eriksson, Sutter will hopefully be inspired to turn it up a few notches with Gagner coming in and Grandlund and Baerschi wanting to improve and stay in the NHL.

Bo might be a concern, he should take on a more responsible role and Henrik should be on the 3rd line.

I'm glad they hired Brown because Jarvis special team coaching sucked the big whazoo

I'm okay with them having similar production as long as they are not getting all those minutes.

I'm pretty confident Sedins will be back in the 60 pt range.

That's a good point, I still think they will be getting 1st line minutes but we can always hope.

There is only so much that can be done with a roster in transition. Individual improvements of certain players should be a big part of the assessment criteria. If they have a better breakout or forecheck, but the young defenders still look lost, then he deserves criticism.

People can hate Willie all they want (and give Bo all the credit), but his handling of him gave a big boost to this franchise
