It is all about entertain . If you have a crap product no one comes. Look at the CFL . The fact that they still have Old Man Henrik an Limp Wristed Daniel is a problem they themselves created. They have had years to change things up but hung on and hung on. That is why extending those two shows the lack of creativity on this club. Taking on Eriksson to help the twins stay relevant was so dumb.
If you don't entertain you become the USFL. Your product will die. I really have zero interest in watching Rodin Megna Chaput Gaunce Dorsett Daniel Henrik or Loui this year , Absolute zero interest. They will lose fans if they address their issues. - VANTEL
No fan is going to pay money to see your best prospects fail because the team isn't ready to transition to the new. I think people will understand that this year at least is the year to suffer the pain of losing and losing ugly for the chance to start to improve next year. Again, if you have an entertaining product, but are losing, then you're just the Cleveland Browns of the NFL, sure you'll have fan support, but you'll be stuck trying to get out of the mess you've created and the prospects you've ruined along the way. |

Arvidsson signs 7 years at 4.25 per . Nice deal. 31 goals 62 points. Hear that BO? - VANTEL
While it would be nice to lock up Bo for that term I doubt it happens. Arvidsson's contract seems to be based on 'one' seasons performance sound like NSH feels he may not repeat it. Bo on the other hand has shown solid upside and progression over 3 seasons…still think Bo might make over 5 per…just the way it is. |

So after all the money spent to mentor and protect players like Bo and Boeser you are suggesting that is not the case. You are suggesting that Boeser would be better served to go learn along side of Goldobin and Dahlen and JV over Henrik and Daniel. |

It could just be also a smart GM paying a player his worth. The way they throw out money these days is not good |

Calgary-Edmonton-Sask-Winnipeg all draw 30,000 or more for home games consistently which is still pretty good in this economy. But I agree the marquee talent and draw across the league need to improve badly. 10 years ago each club had a top-level QB and now…not so much... |

NCAA draw 80 000. CFL should be drawing 50 000 . Thirty thousand for
top teams proves this is a weak product |

I agree I use to watch the Lions all the time now once a year if that. That is my original point it is all about entertainment. If you don't entertain the fans the product will die. |

I agree CFL's # should be higher but n those drawing areas that's not bad. TO and Hamilton should have way higher #'s considering their drawing areas. MTL #s are way down since Calvillo left and OTT is up an down. Remember however that the USA is 300 million + and Canada is 30 million + in population…NCAA teams have a much higher drawing area and population and a lot of attendance at NCAA is alumni and students. |

If it was all about population BC Mtl and Toronto should have the highest attendance and they don't . They have gone through three commissioners in less than 10 years. The officiating stinks , star power is nil .
Back in the days of Swirvin Mirvin the crowds were huge. If not for TSN I doubt the CFL would exist. |

How did all that mentoring work out for JV? for McCann? And let's not forget, had we had any sort of depth at center 2 years ago, Bo might have been sent back to junior. It took him to this year to actually break out, the year under my theory would have been brought up from Utica. A good farm team can make your prospects better and much more likely to succeed in the NHL and we have the depth now to be able to allow those prospects to play big minutes and roles (which is the key here) in a league that's not quite as hard as the NHL and learn how to thrive. Let's not forget the actual goal here, which is to have a team that's ready to win the Cup within the prime years of Boeser, Bo, EP, etc. Having them flailing away on the Canucks while we dump the stars of the past isn't going to help them.
For the record, I'm only playing devil's advocate on Boeser, as I think he's going to be on the team because he's just too talented not to. All I'm saying is that when you're expecting to lose and not have a shot at the playoffs, you should be willing to lose and lose ugly and keep your best prospects away from that hot mess. Unless you get a Matthews, McDavid, Crosby, Tavares or Stamkos in the top of the draft, they shouldn't be on the team until they've a season in Utica or at the very least, a couple of months there. |

I don't get it why? What has he to offer that helps us?
Not even good enough to bump anyone & that says a ton.
Needed in Utica not the 8th D in the press box.
His chance has come n gone & i honestly don't know why i talk about him.
He could use a Utica blog. - Nighthawk
Speed, he's big, he fights, he creates space, he can skate and his transition when watching the play come to him is NHL level. |

I don't mind the debate it is all good.
JV turned into a piss tank party guy . That is not JBs fault. They were also brought in as 18 year olds. Boeser ig going on 3 years removed from his draft. That is a big big difference.
I don't mind losing but even the Oilers said goodbye to Captain Canada Ryan Smyth. Henrik and Daniel should be playing their final year here next year |

I think there is plenty to get excited about . I think we are building one of the stronger prospect pools in the league. You got to let some of them play when they are ready.
I agree with Botchford last year about Stecher . The kid was one of the best at camp and they gave the job to Nilsson. HUGE mistake . - VANTEL

You're not wrong. Every person is different not the player he can be but his personality and maturity level as well as their want t o play for said team also play a part. You can have all the skill in the world to play at an NHL level out of the draft but some guys go full Johnny Manzeil. |
