considered for....training staff? water-boys?? stacking pucks on the boards before the game so that the first guy out does the cool swipe move and knocks them over? - Brooks_Light
I always wanted to be that guy who knocked the pucks over. |

I heard part of a Tony G clip on 1040, he was going on about the low expectations for the club, they are expected to be terrible... so why would people buy season tickets?
Just love how the media is the constant contrarian to every story.
They are upset when JB tries to be competitive and they all cry for the tank. The team is tanking and they wonder why fans would pay to see it?
There was also talk of Gagner signed to play up in the lineup. which sounds like in the top 6... not sure how that is going to look. |

maybe that means he plays with Bo and Sven/Boeser on L1
Sedins and Granlund L2
Then Sutter C on L3
I mean we have Bo, Hank, Sutter, Granlund, Gagner as Cs and I doubt any of them are gonna be on the 4th line. |

Maybe the minutes will be spread a bit more evenly among the those lines. LE looks like he will end up with Sutter. Then again, the lines will see change throughout the season.
Mogilny was great, but if the number wasn't retired, it is fair game. |

Thing is, Tony G isn't wrong. People who have been crying for a tank should go to games. I for one think next years team will be the most exciting since 2010. We've got mostly new faces and young talent. We can see some real push for minutes against the Sedins as the young talent gets better. Maybe even a Pp1 line without one of them(call me crazy). I will pay to see games, didn't go while they were "retooling". I went last year once Boeser was in the lineup, took my nephews and told them "these are all young guys, so well probably lose this game. But they all learn and some of them will be great players in a year or two. Being a fan means being patient, not just cheering when their a winning team" |

Don't sell yourself short, he's managed to annoy and be an arrogant female genitalia to far more posters in far less time than you. If you're a kettle he's a deep crevice of a coal mine. |

I've said it before, Vancouver is a city where if you aren't winning, you aren't going to get fans. The hardcore fans (like us) will support a losing team that has a clear direction and is taking steps to get back to winning, but the casual fans will not. The problem always has been that the hardcore fanbase isn't big enough to support the team during down years, which is why Griffiths had to sell the team in the 90's to McCaw after building GM Place (now Rogers Arena) and why McCaw sold out to FA when he was sick of losing money and getting ripped for being an absent owner.
With there being so much to do in the city other than see a hockey game, the ticket prices being still far too high for the amount of entertainment value, the lack of decent and cheap parking, the concessions gouging you for overpriced, barely edible popcorn and dressed up hotdogs and watered down beer that is put in the smallest cup possible and only being allowed to buy 2 of them, it's hard to justify going to see a game unless you're rich and/or you have a client that's a fan that you can give tickets to. |

I heard that, as well. Gallagher hasn't stopped moping since Gillis was fired. He hates everything about this current regime and goes out of his way to sh*t-talk them. Why people like him are given so much air time is beyond me. He even made a snarky comment about 'the new station" and how they will be nothing but cheerleaders for current management. One track minds don't deserve the air time they get. Gallagher is pathetic. |

If that's true it's not good. JB is promising players a top 6 role when Green hasn't even had a chance to set lines or roster yet?

yeah, I caught that
reminded me of when WD was on with Pratt a year ago and Pratt was kissing his ass at every opportunity.
That new station will be no different from 1040 except for the dial setting. |

All players must know that. GM's can only predict who they think will be ready and on the roster.
JB likely said "hey Sam, we had Chaput/Megna in a top 6 role for extended periods of time last season and the among the worst PP in the league. I think if you sign with us you have a good shot at some of those minutes" |
