You do not trade your starting goaltender just because some GM might pay him more money.

If you can sign him to a $5.5 cap hit for 3-4 years you don't trade him. Now if he wants $6.5 million then you look to trade him.

The recency bias on Bogo is amazing. Is he a great player? Not really. Is he as bad as people in here try to make him out to be? Not even close. His biggest problem is he gets hurt a lot. When he is fully healthy he has had very solid stretches. The last 26 games of 2015/16 after he was presumably back to a decent level of health he had 6 goals and 10 A and was a +10. Add Housley into the mix and I think he could provide close to this type of production.

I do.

For as many shots as he faced, he faced a ton of easy ones, saved very little (comparably) of the hard ones.

If the D steps up, but is more active, he will face less shots, but more of the tough variety. It might make his SV% drop.

That being said, another solid move by our very strong GM. 1 year 4 mil is excellent
