NCAA is far below the CHL don't kid yourself.
They hardly have more experience in fact its less.
They r older & more mature is the only plus & at that they still r unlikely to make the jump. Very few in NCAA ever make the jump. - Nighthawk
nah
age lifts the competition immensely imo. maybe not as much high end, but overall i reckon its tougher |

Not anymore. We are seeing a steady shift over the past 4-5 years where NCAA players are commonly being drafted and even Junior A players like Makar are going way ahead of some good players out of the CHL.
Sure NCAA players play less games but it doesn't appear to curb a lot of the NCAA talent that have been able to jump right to the NHL as the likes of Boeser and so on.
CHL-OHL-WHL-QMJHL are great leagues and all but there is a shift going on towards NCAA and even Junior A. |

At the top end, aka first round picks, youre getting a high quality player regardless of what league they come from. Undrafted players from CHL still spend 2-4 years in AHL, whereas undrafted NCAA grads come out at age 22-24 instead. Big difference I notice is that inflated overage CHL point totals infer better talent over the shorter schedule/smaller production of NCAA but is rarely the case |

..... or.... we have a season ticket base that doesn't appreciate the game. That can't see that Edler is our most used and useful defenceman and tanev is our most stable and defensive defenceman. A fickle fan base that loves shiny objects and new toys but lacks any depth of intelligence or critical thinking.
Or Hutton and stetcher are our best defensemen, you decide? |

now that we have a better D coach, certainly with a better plan than the previous fool we should see better from certain players.
Otherwise Id agree, play the rookie with an experienced NHLer - SMBDragon
This is all yet to be seen.
I'm hoping Gudbranson is 100% healthy and has a better showing this season along with Hutton, and if they can find some chemistry together, that would be great because they often didn't look good playing as a pairing last season.
Anyway, I am feeling some optimism, like you too, but have to check that against other teams also getting better.

I feel like you're also suggesting the best players don't always get voted into All Star games either, as if fan awards are just popularity contests with zero credibility - WhiteLie
