NCAA is far below the CHL don't kid yourself.
They hardly have more experience in fact its less.
They r older & more mature is the only plus & at that they still r unlikely to make the jump. Very few in NCAA ever make the jump. - Nighthawk
what are you talking about? The amount of players from NCAA in the NHL has risen geometrically over the last ten years. Even on the Canucks roster alone 4 out of 23 are NCAA guys. why? because americans spend gross amount of money on sports, if you compare attendance or revenue between the two leagues it's not even close. This gives them the leverage on hockey facilities, what they can offer atheletes, hiring coaches. The list goes on. Sadly, this is a war the CHL is quietly losing. More and more players are going south from Canada. The CHL hamstrings Canadian Universities from getting in on it, but most of their franchises are losing money. |

you overate your abilities. Unless you can score one goal in 77 games and perfectly deflect that goal off of your back and into an empty net you probably aren't first line caliber. #Gaunce4Captain |

This is true. Plus I'm never really sure Codes warmed to WD's coaching or systems. I honestly believe Codes would have much better success with proper linemates. Burying a top 6 guy for 77 games on the 4th line is just not logical. |

completely out of context in what I said.
Did I say green was best coach ever? NO. I said the combination of coaching staff was the best Ive seen ever on the canucks. Usually there is weak links in the staff. This is the strongest most complete combo of coaching staff for a canuck team.
THe only question mark for me is Baumgartner as I havent seen his handywork. But green felt secure in his performance so I'll be positive about him |

Don't even think about moving off of the top line. I'm happy being an all star Con Smyth winning 2nd liner, all the glory and none of the pressure. |

Not anymore. We are seeing a steady shift over the past 4-5 years where NCAA players are commonly being drafted and even Junior A players like Makar are going way ahead of some good players out of the CHL.
Sure NCAA players play less games but it doesn't appear to curb a lot of the NCAA talent that have been able to jump right to the NHL as the likes of Boeser and so on.
CHL-OHL-WHL-QMJHL are great leagues and all but there is a shift going on towards NCAA and even Junior A. - LordHumungous
Yes. See the sources I posted with the stars on previous page four in answer to this. |

Pretty sure it was a joke, as he is the first and only GM in Utica history(hence "the best"), and it had nothing to do with your posts at all. |

holy moly. come back codes...
stecher and hutton both won best dman award their rookie year. they were/are clearly legit nhlers and obviously "ready" by most conventional standards - BobBot
I must of missed this award ceremony, so you are saying that Hutton won best rookie defense man in 2016 and Stecher won best rookie defense man 2017.
Sorry but I don't believe you, and I'm not even sure the NHL has an award for best rookie Defense man.
If you are referring to canuck fans voting "WHO" out of the elite talent group they have back there, doesn't mean they are "clearly legit nhlers and obviously "ready" by most conventional standards" |

If that's the case, I guess we will get to the bottom of how important coaching is this season, eh? |
