Pretty sure it was a joke, as he is the first and only GM in Utica history(hence "the best"), and it had nothing to do with your posts at all. - neem55
Yeah I found that pretty funny. |

hey bro. rookie head coach with 2 career assistants and a rookie assistant coach is the best coaching staff you've seen for this franchise?
hey bro, stop trolling. that's not cool bro hovat. - RealityChecker
that is not trolling in any way. Its my opinion. Im saying its a strong staff
So the HC isnt Laviolette or Julien, the point was it is the most complete, well rounded staff Ive ever seen on a canucks team.
if your opinion doesnt agree youre entitled to that but no point arguing it |

If that's the case, I guess we will get to the bottom of how important coaching is this season, eh? - neem55
except Ive already done that years ago. You can go ahead and find your own answers though. |

what are you talking about? The amount of players from NCAA in the NHL has risen geometrically over the last ten years. Even on the Canucks roster alone 4 out of 23 are NCAA guys. why? because americans spend gross amount of money on sports, if you compare attendance or revenue between the two leagues it's not even close. This gives them the leverage on hockey facilities, what they can offer atheletes, hiring coaches. The list goes on. Sadly, this is a war the CHL is quietly losing. More and more players are going south from Canada. The CHL hamstrings Canadian Universities from getting in on it, but most of their franchises are losing money. - neem55
About a 3rd of NHL players are NCAA alumni. I posted links to stats and reality on page 4 in answer to both Makita and Nighthawk naysaying the NCAA.
Do you think the NHL should change their agreement with CHL on draft picks limiting their AHL age entry? |

how is he the only gm in utica history? how is that possible - SMBDragon
I'm fairly sure they just had a president, have never had a GM. could be wrong. Upon checking, Pat Conacher was technically both Gm and director. It's like having a guy who is president and GM at the NHL level, right? Remember: Utica hasn't been Canucks farm team for long, so it's not that much of a stretch that theyve never had an actual stand-alone GM. It's nice to see FA willing to spend more on management in Utica, seems like a good sign. |

Right, but none of the posters on here have been convinced. I'm just saying, by saying this is the best coaching staff in Canucks history, surely you must think this is a playoff team based on how important you think coaching is? |

which does not mean there wasnt 1 before the canucks bought it. Who knows though. No real reason to know this for most canucks fans Id say. |

or soon to be anyways.
Remember Im not saying that it isnt improvable or that its the ultimate line up, just that its the best most complete staff we have had to date. Nothing more. |

I be talking about following the discussion.
NCAA players going straight into the NHL is far below the CHL. |

Lol.... a conundrum.
If we suck this year with the best coaching staff we have ever had then that process coaching isn't as important as some state that it is, proving both that the sword matters more them the wielder.
Of they make the playoffs then the wielder is more important.
We shall see . |

I must of missed this award ceremony, so you are saying that Hutton won best rookie defense man in 2016 and Stecher won best rookie defense man 2017.
Sorry but I don't believe you, and I'm not even sure the NHL has an award for best rookie Defense man.
If you are referring to canuck fans voting "WHO" out of the elite talent group they have back there, doesn't mean they are "clearly legit nhlers and obviously "ready" by most conventional standards" - Makita

What does that mean? They clearly need to be developed properly, so how is there any way else to play it? |

It is too late for Utica, neither would clear. They have to continue to develop on the job.
It is going to be a challenge.
I still wonder what we could get for Hutton? and if OJ has a good showing it could really get interesting.
It just appears hard to develop two young d at once unless we are rotating them in and out of the lineup or another dman gets more icetime. |
