You think Clarke was bad? Just wait until you see what the GreenDP leaves behind for BC.

Neither is Hank anymore

I agree with you. Specially with the current NHL based on speed. But Sedins are still good for 50 points next year. I don't think a lineup of Bo, Gagner and Sutter will be able to cover that gap. Unless we use the cap money and go after an elite to take the 1c role till EP is ready or another miracle falls in our laps.

Why not use the cap space to cover the gap on younger players instead of the Sedins.

NHL.com's Projected lineup for Canucks this year, 4th line is interesting:

Daniel Sedin -- Henrik Sedin -- Loui Eriksson
Sven Baertschi -- Bo Horvat -- Brock Boeser
Markus Granlund -- Sam Gagner -- Brandon Sutter
Nikolay Goldobin -- Alexander Burmistrov -- Derek Dorsett

Alexander Edler - Troy Stecher
Michael Del Zotto - Christopher Tanev
Ben Hutton - Erik Gudbranson

Jacob Markstrom

we need to get Hutton away from Gudbranson. Give EG a decent partner for at least a few months

I have a feeling we are talking about the same thing in 2 different languages. What I said is getting a 1c as a stop gap. but you cant get another Gagner or Sutter type and hope by committee the team will be better. If that is the case then you are better off with Hank for another year.

exactly....let's dress EG with Edler and sell him at the deadline for some solid picks. Putting him with Hutton is idiotic. Not trying to trash on Hutton too much, but he was horrific last year.

He had 9 goals in each of his last two years. Doesn't sound like that will be too hard to fill
- VANTEL

they dont have to be many, just timely. Those goals are priceless.

Maybe at one time Burrows was clutch but not the past 2-3 seasons. His leadership is what will be missed the most. Hansen on the other hand will be very tough to replace...versatile on all 4 lines in pretty much every way.
- LordHumungous

I liked both

but the returns were decent. Esp burrows. How JB pulled that one off?

I am not sold on the stop gap thing at all .I know many will disagree but I would take a run at Tavares or Turris. You could offer long term contracts and outbid most suitors. If you landed one then you could also start moving Sutters contract. There a a couple of big fish next year and bringing back two old slow guys does not appeal to me at all. We could also go after another top 6 forward also.

That's enough to go back and finish the last 2 years of his degree AND buy himself a sweet ride....school will always be there. hockey wont.
- Brooks_Light

exactly.

The only question is, if you've put in 1-2 years of the degree and go to nhl for 10+ years, will the 1-2 years be honored as completed when you retire? The answer may be decision maker for these kids

Don't think so . I cant remember any huge goals at all last year or the year before. Bottom 3 teams do not have many Hallmark Moments let alone 18 of them by one player.

Anyone want Christy CLark's old job? She quit.

Qualifications: good at BS. Spend other peoples money. And little else.

At his $4.5m cap hit, they were worth $500,000 per goal and his 1 GWG was worth 2 points
