I am not sold on the stop gap thing at all .I know many will disagree but I would take a run at Tavares or Turris. You could offer long term contracts and outbid most suitors. If you landed one then you could also start moving Sutters contract. There a a couple of big fish next year and bringing back two old slow guys does not appeal to me at all. We could also go after another top 6 forward also. - VANTEL
"Hi John Tavares, it's Jim Benning. I know this is your first time to sign a big contract and play for a contender in the City of your choice! It must be so exciting to finally get away from the Islanders. Why Vancouver? great question John. Well it's all about opportunity..and really high taxes with an insane cost of living. You will be the go to guy. you will be the captain. whatever you want, it's yours. Magma? Chaput? Guance? take your pick. I trust you will make the right decision John"

exactly.
The only question is, if you've put in 1-2 years of the degree and go to nhl for 10+ years, will the 1-2 years be honored as completed when you retire? The answer may be decision maker for these kids - SMBDragon
Not sure if it differs by institute, province or country but at a couple of the schools around here its 7 years before your courses expire as outdated |

At his $4.5m cap hit, they were worth $500,000 per goal and his 1 GWG was worth 2 points - WhiteLie
ya the cap hit was bad by then. But I liked him as a player. |

Been gone a week. Anything big happen? Bo signed yet? - Retinalz
1. If the nucks make the playoffs then the hand is mightier then the sword.
2. I've learned that if i walk into this place and Yonkers are the only ones here then it's best that i pull an Abe Simpson, turn around and walk back out the door.
3. Guance still hasn't signed.... could be the NHL story this year.
4. Some eastern seaboard located members of the buzz fraternity still post every 3rd post in code, im learning to deal with it, but my wood pile is taking a huge hit. |

hey vantel, do you think Markov has anything left in the tank to contribute?
Im not of the mind to sign older players but markov has always been a key player on the blueline.
havent seen him in a while though except the habs last PO run |

Markov does still have fuel but it could dry up any time.

Also players of Tavares caliber in their prime don't hit free agency. I can see it happening with Turris. but is he really that much better then Bo? I would rather take a run at Duchene. Or Stastny. At 31 Stastny can play 1c for another 3-4 years. Enough time for EP and whomever we draft this year. |

We have no one in our prospect pool even close to his level. We also have a bunch of players coming in on ELC . The best chance of taking a run at high end players is next year |

Unfortunately north of 10 per will become norm soon. The speculation is Eichel will sign for more then 11 and Mathews will break McDavids number. That is all in the next 2years. Offering Tavares 10 will be the starting bid. Open market he will fetch over 12. I am all for getting Tavares but at 12-13 per is only 1 mill less then what we are paying Sedins for 94 points. Tavares will not score that many more points on a crappy team like ours and can play only 1 position. |

I believe so also and in 7 years 11.5 will be like today's 7.5 |

He is not a high end player worth 11.5 a year. That's McDavid money, Tavares is 2 levels lower than McDavid |
