Wonder that myself. I really like Ryan's game, but he's neither a transition guy or a burner for that matter at all. If they're really going to be going for a speedy, transition game it may hurt his production. I'm not too worried because anything he loses in the offensive zone, he'll more than make up for us defensively, but for what he's making we need him to produce as well.

He was a UFA in 2017. Contract is 1 year RFA status and 7 years UFA. Makes a difference vs Eichel who would only be getting a few years of his UFA being bought up with an 8 year deal

the age and games played makes this a non comparable. There really was no contract this year that would change what eichel was going to get. We all figured hed get paid on any sort of long term deal.
