I'm only on season 5 and it took that long and they're not even close, I can't imagine they made much progress in the season and a half since. I mean, I'm just guessing that's where they're going, I haven't read the books, but the show is totally centered around them, so I just assumed whoever is still alive will end up as king/queen.

Look at Sense 8. Overwhelming fanbase from the LBGTQ community, on top of the millions of Sexflix subscribers still couldn't justify $8 million dollars per episode just in travel expenses for the cast and crew.

GoT may be popular, but DVD sales are dying, its a niche fanbase (let's face it, Fantasy has always been at the fringe of mainstream) and they don't make money off the book sales, on top of the over $2,000,000.00 dollars an episode salary for the 5 main cast members.

Its drivel.
