Probably Hitler's biggest blunder, that and invading Russia. - A_SteamingLombardi
The Germans just wanted them out of Europe and believed they could reach peace with U.K. Like they did with France and Vichy split. Where Germans could just take over spoils of the British Empire. They didn't want an outraged backlash if they massacred the British Expeditionary Force. But new PM Churchill was not an appeaser like his predecessor and rallied Roosevelt for help to hold out and not capitulate to Germans. So they held the Oil fields and took a bashing in the ensuing Blitz. |

You're so right, this past year has been some of the craziest poop I've seen on here. - A_SteamingLombardi
Almost makes ya yearn for the days when UG and Maplebud would have 20 pages of posts and by the end of it they would have both done a 180 on their position yet still be arguing just as viciously. |

ya man.
Buy used stuff.
Car seat is hard to skimp on, but for strollers, toys and cribs (jus get a new mattress), hit up that 2nd hand shop.
Kid will outgrow it in no time anyways.
The pressure to buy the best, safest, newest plastic poop is overwhelming at first.
It's a racket. - dbot
I gave all my baby stuff away when we didn't need it anymore. |

Per dailyhive Vancouver's Grady Sas, Alexander Kerfoot will NOT be signing with vancouver. Eyeing a western conference team that is in a position to allow him to exceed in a more prominent role.... whatever that means. |

sounds like a smart kid who wants to play on a team that isn't the 2nd worst in the entire league.
i'd say any Calif team, Alberta team, etc would put him in a position to rack up more points and earn a better contract going forward. |

Just seen Dunkirk. Mixed feelings on the movie. - VANTEL
I was certainly disappointed in it. Part may be from the reviews I read though.... I expected a lot more. Also thought itd be a full on war movie like saving private ryan

It's a sad world where nothing you buy anymore lasts more than 5 years. That's the mentality so they can keep selling the same thing over and over. Instead of having a great item for 20 years you have to buy it 5 times over 25 years.
Quality is out there…but people just don't have the mentality to pay for it anymore. - LordHumungous
ya its retarded how all the baby stuff has expiry. Total cash grab against parents who cant be without these items. Expiry dates on these items essentially block items as hand-me-downs from other parents |

Most reviews i've seen have been positive, people say to see it on the big screen. - dbot
I did....left wondering WTF I had to see that on the big screen for. Maybe the illusion it was better than it really was |

Yeah so many peoples memories of the war in Europe is D-day but that was 4 years after Dunkirk and it took the Americans joining the war effort to make that happen. - A_SteamingLombardi
one on D day could be intense |

Why did you expect it to be like Private Ryan, when the scenario was the exact opposite? Dunkirk was about 400,000+ soldiers trying to get back to England, the waiting on the beach/in the rescue boats was the most terrifying part. It wasn't full out war, it was them being pinned down, and picked off by the Luffwaffe dive bombers.
It depicted the situation to a tee. While I loved the movie, it was the most stressful/uncomfortable movie experience I've ever had. I think for that reason it succeeds. |

Possibly cus it was more of an England-related tale.
But not liking a movie cus it wasn't more like Private Ryan isn't really fair. That's like saying I didn't like the new Spiderman movie cus Batman wasn't in it. |

Nino's numbers are eerily similar to Bo's - i wonder when this contract is gonna get signed so we can talk about SOMETHING hockey related that actually affects this team. |

There has always since before I joined been some squabbling, but the past year has seen it go to a whole new level. - golfingsince
Something definitely changed just under a year ago.
I'll take some blame for rising to the bait, should have just flaged and ignored a little more. I did find that some posters really like condemning others opinions but couldn't take criticism of their own, if you throw out an idea that is outlandish, own that poop, accept that you'll get bugged for saying it, but grow a pair and laugh it off.
Also continuing to whine and pming mods for that isn't cool at all, nothing that i read or wrote since Makita threw down the hammer crossed any lines or broke the COC, I 100 percent feel that skin shouldn't be so thin. |
