Where was Parise in OT? Why didn't he win it before Crosby did?
Just didn't have that big game mentality I guess - sbroads24
That goal cemented the "Mr. Softy" nickname, whether it was true or not |

And you're a total hater
What a horrible post u just made
Miller made DOZENS of amazing saves to even get the USA to that point in the tourney, & was amazing in that game as well
USA was dominated & should've lost by 5 - jdfitz77
Crosby scored from center ice I think, right? On a dump in |

Kucherov scored on Lehner while intentionally not touching the puck.

At least make the saves you're supposed to. Were you at the airport cheering him on when he got back to Buffalo? You would've been cheering for Norwood at the rally after Super Bowl XXV too. |

Right?!
Why didn't the rest of the team Canada score on all their chances they had?
I guess they weren't big game players |

To be fail Kessel scored on Miller like that too. In the shootout. Pretty sure Kessel (frank)ed up though. |

I'm being facetious.
Every goalie lets in bad goals.
No one outside Buffalo has anything but praise for Miller's Olympic performance |

And what about all the SPECTACULAR play by Miller throughout that game,
& the entire tourney?
We wouldn't have even been in contention for a medal if it wasn't for Miller

Why didn't Golden State close out the Cavs on three straight elimination games in 2016? Must not be big game players.....except the year before and year after
Sometimes you just get beat by great players |

You mean the guy that kept the USA team in the game when they got outplayed by Canada ?
He carried that whole team to the gold-medal game against a super All-Star Canadian team

Pretty sure it mattered all game long as he was being peppered
You're arguments are weak & unsubstantial
Going by your logic...
every goalie that doesn't win the Cup or a goals medal choked when it mattered
That's just dumb |

I'll never forget the interview after he let in that dribbler from Crosby and gifted Canada the gold. Something like he didn't calculate Crosby taking a shot so quickly. Total head case. He looked about as good as Michael Leighton on that. Totes magotes man. Big players make big shots in big games. He didn't have it. - Hatboro_Swords
If you want to attack Ryan Miller, the 2010 Olympics are definitely the last thing you should go to. He was the MVP of the tournament and with good reason.
Goaltender Minutes GA GAA SV% Saves SO
Ryan Miller 355:07 8 1.35 94.56 139 1
Ilya Bryzgalov 100:53 3 1.78 94.23 49 0
Tomáš Vokoun 303:35 9 1.78 93.57 131 0
Henrik Lundqvist 179:05 4 1.34 92.73 51 2
Roberto Luongo 307:40 9 1.76 92.68 114 1
What a bum! |

"Clutch" and "Big game player" are two of the most over rated sports terms.
I believe some guys are clutch, but the multiple times a player is not "clutch" is never mentioned.
Jonathon Toews is routinely labeled a clutch, big game player... yet went like two playoff series once without a goal once. Why wasn't he clutch then? |

Fair point
I think be term might be more over used than overrated though
Some players certainly do have a knack for scoring the big goal,
or making a great play
But that's just bc they're good, and that's what good players do
Not always
But more often than most
The best hitters still strike out
Hall of fame QBs throw interceptions
and ALL Goalies let in goals, even "soft" ones at times

So was Hull overrated bc he didn't score before Yzerman did?
What about that bum Gretzky?
Man... he must not have been clutch
What a ridiculously overrated player he was
Folded like a cheap suit...
right?
