Thanks VHG, I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly.
Gentlemen, I urge you guys to stop with the gang up mentality that is going on in here today.
I posted that I had reached my limit to trying to be a moderator with the type of antics that are going on, and here it's happening tenfold.
Everyone has the right to post their opinions, not everyone will agree with said opinions, and if they feel that they're are being unfairly maligned and not getting fair treatment, they have every right to seek higher support.
I try to be extremely fair, not everyone will like my form of justice, and I will not respond favourably to people making demands of me, but that's me and that's how I roll.
I am a volunteer, I agreed to moderate because of the trolling from the other fan bases. Never did I think that this group in here would be so immature that I would tire of moderating my own fan base.
Carol is the best damn blogger on this site and the majority in here are being extremely disrespectful to her efforts, you are being disrespectful to each other, and to yourselves over all.
You guys like Carol and if you truly like me and want to support both, then I'm asking that you all stop with the childish antics...please.
I just need a bit of a vacation from you guys...thanks for understanding. - Makita
Problem is they truly do not think they're being childish there doc. they just think they're right. If I were you I would have walked away from this gig long ago.

Agree 100%...
Trying to blame one guy or two doesn't ring true. Attacking someone for their opinions doesn't make any sense. Not sure why people want to turn this into the leafs blog, where they attack anyone who has a contrary opinion or likes the Nux... Then ban the person cuz some snowflakes get upset, especially, self righteous, closed minded, elitist, ones with British accents... |

Is Andrei Svechnikov The Next Generational Prospect?

Interesting how they speak of generational yet mention McDavid, Mathews, Eichel and Laine. 4 guys drafted in back to back drafts.
Perhaps they need a definition of generational. |

Outside of Crosby and McDavid, franchise player seems more appropriate description |

Seems like we do need him because this is who we have at RW - neem55
Also goofy gold and breakout Brock.
New pay style, let me know how it sounds.
Eloquent skaters they are silken threads on sand. Comprehensive skills that are lacking ate better then none.
Forwards our defenceman which are driving back. Comprehensive studies show a skew in statistical goals for corporations, do they translate into on ice performance?
Aspects of faceted crystallized represented by ea sports skillsets show a decline in coherent comprehension of literary genius, discuss?
Folksy or stylish is bricks hair better then Goldies?
Brock shot or Elias dangle?
Henrik on the draw or Sutters skating?
Genetics shout out when generational talent sniffs around at abiding emotional rule.
Hockey talk guys, stick to hockey ok. |

The comparison is to Malkin. I don't know about you but I would consider Malkin to be pretty close to a Generational talent. |

I didnt read the link, but from the list golfing provided, generational was definitely an overstatement on those players.
To me, generational is a player that changes the game and is an indication of the types of players we will see coming in the future. Malkin I feel should have been on the NHL's top 100 players list, but I also feel like he is a Mario-lite. His combination of size/speed, scoring and playmaking ability wasnt unlike anything we had seen before. I think he is an exceptional talent and can see why others think he is generational, but to me he just isnt/wasnt |

at its most basic, a generational player to me is a player who steps in and immediately becomes a top 5 player. from then on, he should be a top 2/3 for the remainder (vast majority) of his career (barring injury of course) while winning several individual awards and more than one cup.
mcdavid, crosby, mario, gretzky.
lots of others were franchise/superstar/hall of famers but not quite up to that top tier.
that's an oversimplification but you get what i mean. |

Thats my list as well. I can see arguements for Ovechkin, as he scored at will for the past decade, but I probably subcategorize him as generational scorer
I think defense is harder to note generational players as well. Orr is the obvious one, but Karlsson might be this era's generational player. He is today's standard for offensive defenseman and many of the next prospects aim to mimic his play |

Definitely. He has always been a franchise altering player, it wouldve been nice to see what he could do in his prime as the go-to player |

i definitely don't think ovechkin is generational. the subgrouping makes sense but waters down the word/term imo.
i don't think karlsson is there to be generational for dmen. i'd go lidstrom as the last one.

Na I'd throw Karlsson in the generational category, not many defenseman can boast about 2 Norris trophies at his age. |

he definitely has the potential. imo, other dmen will surpass or be at the norris trophy level conversation as much as him. that's why i don't think he'll be generational.
for generational, he should be a lock norris winner for a few years. will he do it? he definitely has a shot but i'm not so sure. |
