yeah, I get it...he did play some spot duty in the top-six, but if i'm not mistaken, he played mostly third line with pp time...

This is a flawed outlook. Okposo shortened season, Reinhart still developing, Pommer declining, Kane, we know Kane. |

if I do even strength points per game played, pommer has the highest number for last season |

Girgs will be gone in the next 18 imo. There's no spot for him going forward as a center if either Erod or Middlestadt make the team full time next year. Larsson is the superior FO and PK guy for that 3rd line role. Maybe they'll try to pump girgs value this year, but I don't expect anything out of him. If he hit 30 points, that would surprise me |

He may be better suited at LW in my opinion. there is a need there. Not giving up on him quite yet but hes got to show some more flashes this year if he wants to stay. |

so I posted this before the previous thread broke
what is the odds, that okposo or reinhart get flipped to lw
this puts a vet, pommer on the second line
okposo-eichel-reinhart
kane-ror-pommer
or
kane-eichel-okposo
reinhart-ror-pommer
if a kid shines in rochester they can grab the 3rd line spot, otherwise bottom 6
pouliot-larsson-girgens
moulson-e-rod/josefson-e-rod/josefson
deslauriers - homiedclown
This is all secondary planning, Nylander will be 2nd line LW this year, book it

The_Whale asks:
What the Ek are the Sabres thinking going into this season with those goalies both on 1 year contracts and a defense not improved enough to make either of them look any better than what we have already seen?!
Ek:
A very legit question asked by many….It is my theory that they aren’t in love with any of the goalies in their system and they are playing the long game here..2 years from now there is an awesome UFA goalie cup including Fleury…who is of course known well by the GM…I could see them at some point trading for Fleury..either after this season or during next season…once he could be extended..
I guess we didn't improve the defense with the trade for Scandella or Benwaballs and signing Antman. |

What the EK is The_Whale thinking?
Goalies - Lehner will still be an RFA. Johnson is a career backup and placeholder for Ullmark.
Defense should be better just by eliminating Franson/Kulikov and a very limited Gorges.
boom.

No. He's playing bottom pair with TVR this year.
Faulk will be traded in two years though, assuming Jake Bean pans out. |

Opinions vary, he was a God and analytically the best goaltender to ever dress in the NHL and I am 100% certain he'd be better than Lehner today. - TheSabresTaco
Just how like Biron, who's career numbers are almost identical to Miller's, was a "career backup". |

Biron played pre lockout when no one scored goals.
Comparing raw numbers in different eras are bad comparisons.
It's like calling Derek Roy similar to Nick Backstrom because Roy had 80 points a few times |
