8x9 or 8x9.5 seemed pretty fair for both sides. I think he needed a bit more to get that 10+ contract that Toews, Kopitar and Kane have gotten. They had hardware before they got those contracts. Not sure he's done enough to warrant that.

Mittlestadt could be the steal of the draft at 8. Kids dynamic. Him and nylander in a few years could be a great line. For the leafs sake I hope eichel signs 8 x 9

I think we're excited too. Yeah, Jack's price tag will be one of the comparables used. 8x9 sounds pretty good for a guy with two years in the league, but McDavid went and upped the ceiling so who knows. I doubt Auston or Jack get over 10 out the gate, but, again, who knows.
