People need to stop thinking about 1st overall next draft. Devils won't be there. They had to win the lottery this year and we're going to be better than last year 100%. So maybe think about some positives. You know what helps a teams defence look better. Forwards who don't finish last in league scoring. Not to mention Cory had a bad year last year. Odds are both of those aren't happening again. Devils will be much better this year.

I think your thinking here is pretty backwards. The Devils had a poopty defense. Their forwards looked worse BECAUSE of the defense. Cory had a rough year BECAUSE of the defense. Who says the Devils won't get 1st overall? In all likelihood, they aren't a playoff team. If the Flyers can drop onto number 2 from where they were, it's a reasonable possibility.

Nobody said they were worse, but they're only marginally better. To say that they don't have a chance of sucking is just being a homer. I'll still watch games. I'll go to some if I can. Don't get angry if fans think (correctly) this team isn't ready to be competitive.

Have to agree. The only part I don't know is how much we intentionally tanked last year. I mean why was Dalton Prout playing D so much? But still we were pretty bad. Statistically we'd be unlikely to win the lottery again but anything is possible in Jersey.
