8 minutes is fine for the 4th line and then give the top 3 lines the other 14 minutes each

I would even debate MTL's capabilities. Their center situation is dreadful and they lost their 2nd best scorer. If Price falters, that team is screwed. Again.

moulson, e rod???- josefsson for the 4th line


e-rod and josefsson play an up tempo game
moulson is fine defensively , perhaps our most under rated forward

He doesn't score 5-on-5 and putting him with Josefson is gonna make that worse. I guess he's the new Matt Ellis, because he is good defensively. I just can't wait til he's gone. Erod doesn't score much but at least he's fun to watch.

Too much energy is being wasted talking about the shootouts last year IMO

Last year even Tampa proved they're not guaranteed. Not saying they're not better than we are. They are. But there's not a team in this division at a guaranteed finishing spot. Ottawa snuck into the playoffs and got to the ECF. I would hardly agree that they are a better team than we are.

This division should be a dog fight. Tampa will probably come out on top, but after that, and I think it was mentioned a few minutes ago.. 2-7 can be debated harder than enaK being resigned. However, I think Detroit should finish last.

It also looked like we packed it in at the end of the year and dropped in the standings. That was, I believe, after the point at which we fell out of the race. Those 6 extra points may have placed us in striking distance and gotten a better effort out of the players in those final games. I don't think we would have made it, but I think we're closer than the standings demonstrate.

Risto, McCabe and Scandella are top 4, but there's still one missing there

Goaltending is above average


In short, in order for us to make the playoffs, i think we need one of the young guys to be an actual point-producing second liner, and we need either Beaulieu or Antipin to be an acutal top-4 D.

Jack's gonna go off this year if he stays healthy. He will lead us to the playoffs this year if the above happens IMO

At the very least, the depth has progressed to a point where DLO and Grant shouldn't make the team. In a perfect world Moulson would be the 13th forward to keep him hungry. I still think he was the beneficiary of the PP and not a driver on it

There were certainly a couple of low points but hear me out on this. If Jack doesn't get injured does he single handledly win a couple of those 21 games? I think 4 pts difference is actually reasonable. If you change that, put us 4 pts ahead, get some saves in the shootout and pick up 4-6pts there...then add in a little more effort in those final 6 games...we're on the doorstep.

Again, I think that we were going to be on the outside looking in last year, but only a few tweaks could have changed the course of the year. AKA we were better than the 8th worst team last year.
