Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks to march in Sunday's Pride Parade, Summer Showcase notes Erik Gudbranson and Troy Stecher will march in the Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday, while four Canucks prospects wrap up their week at the World Junior Summer Showcase on Saturday in Michigan.

Thanks CS always a pleasure.

It is funny to hear Gudbrandson say that many NHLers are open minded. I guess I look forward to the day when someone says they are gay and no one even notices.

Hope Dahlen plays in Utica.

Glass didn't do a heck of a lot either yesterday so anyone wanting to rant about the EP selection.

Don't extend Sedins

More and more people are less opposed to supporting the gay community but it's still an uncomfortable/taboo subject in many circles. Good on the guys for showing their support.

I have yet to see Dahlen play hockey, however, he's young and I'm sure another year in Europe wouldn't hurt him.

Why play hockey in Europe when he can get a feel for the North American game?

Thanks Carol.

Will you be at the parade?
Also, Gudbranson is showing leadership by his actions. He will/should be the next captain of this team.imo.
I realize a lot do not like him, but he is a much needed player on our super soft team. Can we get Willie Mitchell also

@ Lefty

Lots of better teams can offer money, you've gotta have a chance to win or you get second or third tier UFA's. No one wanted to sign in Edmonton until McDavid and Draisaitl came along. We don't have that.

I Think Vancouver has a team that can offer a player a chance . Kerrfoot and the Hobbie Baker winner thought wow I could make this team seeing there is a lot of scrubs on it , but Benning brought in a lot of scrub competition this year which weakened their chances.

Top UFAs will be reluctant because of the age style and prospect pool but it will change when we change.

Lol.

Wow now we have people over here telling us what low level prospects are thinking and why they might sign elsewhere.

Great on them for supporting. More and more teams are taking part. I dont remember team's being so involved prior to the passing of Brian Burkes son. Love the participation though. I attended the parade a few years ago and it was a good time.

Dahlen playing with Pettersson on Vaxjo imo is his best option. Juolevi playing in Finland isnt the worst option either.

Yes, but those 'Circles' are generally inhabited by close minded, ignorant morons. Chances are if you're still made to feel uncomfortable with the fact Gays exist, you're some sort of Hillbilly/Redneck or religious fanatic. Both groups qualify as morons and their opinions shouldn't matter or count.....then again Trump was elected.

Now you sound like a total bigot. Everyone's opinion counts. There is no reason to be an oppressive social justice warrior and stampede anyone.

I only watched a bit of the games, petterson looked good in all zones, dipietro like him and he has the drive to make the nhl, lind needs to work on his skating its choppy hes feisty though and works hard, gads I really like. Judging by what I saw your right carol lind seems to be a bit behind.

I hope that the Sedins arent extended as well. They must either realise they are becoming an issue detrimental to the teams future by resigning or continue their career in a cup hunt on another team

I agree with your points. I just wish the one thing that was changed during the draft due to being thick headed by the Canucks. They tipped their hand selecting Pettersson and lost getting the extra Vegas pick that was on the table had Vegas seriously though Canucks were going for Glass. Its not the first time that the Canucks have not shown their hand and had it cost them (Bennings tampering fine )
- Tigersmyle

Benning had to ask vegas if they were open to moving up. There was no discussion about who either team wanted. Benning tried to move up, not sure he could have done anything else.

So it was just blowing smoke from Mcphee regarding his draft pick trade to the Canucks if they were going for Glass ? It was during an interview and he was kinda gloating about it .

Mcphee would have had an inkling that benning wanted the swede due to the burrows trade. Mcphee also would have had an suspicion the minute jim benning approached him. It was always a long shot by benning and mcphee didnt take the bait. I think youre reading too much into it.

Probably so, i just hope that there is not a naivety issue there. It seems like in this modern age of caps that you need a real poker face and chessmaster running the show. I wonder why teams dont really spend the mortage money on expanding the scouting departments more . I guess though that at the age of players being selected its just all a crapshoot anyhow.

I didn't read it that way.

maybe Vantel should have started with, I'm no mind reader but I could see them having this line of thinking?

I dont think teams have ever been more invested in scouting or analytics than today tbh.
