This post time a million billion.

Its like people fail to realize that the greats are great because they do something special - SUCH AS joining the league and dominating at an early age.

You can still be really good, productive, core player without having done that. Sedins are great examples.

17 years, no playoffs. Great players or not the team blows...F the Bills. Football is only about whose house were going to eat chicken wing dip at. Trophy is ugly too.

My Dad used to say . Put thy brain in gear before opening thy mouth . I sit here and read your posts and think you should do that before posting. Boldin was a beast in the red zone last year . His career has not tailed off . The guy is an athletic freak. Maybe this year is the year he falls apart. But maybe it is not. I just marvel at how you look for the worst in everything. Does it make your day to bum everyone out? The season has not even started. Take a happy pill once and a while with your organic diet . For someone so young living the high life . You act like Debbie Downer all the time . And 90 % of the time end up looking dumb for it.

- Gordzilla

I'm a big Boldin fan, I even have him in two dynasty fantasy leagues but the bolded is so far from false its stunning.

https://www.pro-football-...om/players/B/BoldAn00.htm

His production has taken a nosedive in almost every category the last 2 seasons. If it wasn't for TDs he'd be totally irrelevant.

Do the Bills need a redzone target? Sure but lets not act like his signing is going to save the season.

I don't even know who these are and I'm not clicking on those links

Seguin was a 67 point player at 19
Eichel was a PPG player at 20
Galchenyuk had 30 goals at 21
Duchene had 67 points at 20 years old
Evander Kane who was 4th the year Duchene was drafted had 30 at 20 years old

No, it shouldn't take 6 years to breakout

again, I never compared reinhart to seguin as a player
never said reinhart would be a number 1 center
never said reinhart was going to be a superstar in the nhl

I did say our trash had as many points in 2 full seasons as seguin, which is correct

- homiedclown

First of all, why even bring up Seguin? They are completely different players, but since you did...
1. Seguin is not a franchise player. Jamie Benn is that franchise. There's a reason why Boston traded him. And despite his regular season point production, he's lazy, and about as competitive as a Buddist. He's also known for - still to this day - being immature, and not really caring all that much about winning. Tyler is all about Tyier.

2. How many playoff series has he won since Boston traded him? Answer is 0! Well technically 1, but in the series when Dallas beat Chicago, he played in 2 games - both of which they lost. Coincidence? I don't know, but more proof that he isn't a franchise player.

3. Don't tell me he was traded by the same team that traded away Joe Thorton either. That was 10 years earlier and a completely different team and front office. If you want to, then how many cups has Jumbo Joe won?

Tyler Seguin is the equivalent to fools gold. Much like Drew Stafford, Tyler Myers, Derek Roy, Alex Galchenyuk, ect...

Sam Reinhardt is not a franchise player either just so we're clear. He wasn't drafted to be a franchise player, and the only player of that caliper coming out of that draft was Ekblad. It was widely considered to be one of the weakest drafts in NHL history. So far, it's it's a pretty fair assessment; then, and now.

I'll end on something that will make all Sabre fans happy. We have a Tyler Seguin clone. But with 10 times the competitiveness, drive, and dedication to the sport. He eats, breaths and sleeps hockey... His name is Casey - some of you may have heard of him.

This isn't what was said. You're shifting the argument to your favor.

Someone said that 24-26 is when most guys hit their peak. Doesn't make it the same for everyone.

Would you have given up on Stamkos after one year of being sub PPG player? Or is the fact that it was only ONE year so much better than the fact that Reinhart has had TWO years?

The WR's are not the issues anymore

The big holes on the team are LB and OL depth

Your hate for Tyrod is hilarious

The Bills defense was brutal last year, there were games where Taylor was not good but his play was average. The defense held them back.

Going back to the 4-3 alone helps tremendously

- Stripes77

And we've got one or 2 healthy 1st round talents back this year depending on what Shaq is going to be.

Preston Brown is London Fletcher underrated, not saying he's as good, Fletcher is a HOFer and he never got the credit as one of the greats that he was. Brown is a burner that can cover and tackle.

Alexander even a half or whole step back is still very good.

Ragland 1st round talent coming off injury.

And you have Hyde who is basically going to be another LB in run situations.

Switching back to 4-3 I'd guess that Shaq and Hughes will be full-time DEs, but if not they can be used as edge rushers in exotic packages. I don't think we can sustain more than 2 injuries to the LBs at a time, but what team can?

There will be a Preston or Zack Brown that comes out of nowhere again this year like they do every year.

Sure, you'd like to have a little more, but the starters are looking real good.

OL on the other hand is real bad. There's just no other way around it. Any news on the new kid they drafted? I heard he looked real bad, but that was on like day 2, so I don't know if he's made any strides.

I am worried about CB though. If White isn't ready for full-time duty Seymour as our #2 CB, we could be in trouble.

I'm not shifting anything. Peak and breakout are totally different things.

Seguin going from 22 points as an 18 year old to 67 as a 19/20 year old. That's breaking out. His "peak" is the 80-90 point player he's been lately

He might even make the HOF eventually

People forget how good he was there are numerous articles written about his worthiness about being a HOFer

Cam is not cam anymore you being serious right now lol season didn't even start yet

And you're going to count out Andrew Luck okay then

But hold up if we had luck ,cam we be in the playoffs right ?

It's ok to be homers but Jesus

- GERBE!!!75PTS

He wasn't even throwing yet just a couple days before training camp. That is not good. His shoulder is still bad enough still to prevent him from throwing all off-season. And this far into training camp he's still on the PUP list. And he hasn't been good in years. Remember when we thought it was a fluke when the Bills shut him down in the opener a few years ago? It wasn't.

Direct from the Colts beat writer(written 3 hours ago):

Do not read much into Andrew Luck being present at the last two Colts’ practices. Chuck Pagano threw up the red flag on if Luck’s recent practice attendance means his return to participate is definitely coming soon.

The Colts enter Week Two of Training Camp with Luck still on the PUP list. Until Saturday’s practice, Luck had been isolated from the media for the bulk of camp.

Where is Luck in his throwing rehab schedule?

Will his return to practice come in the next week or so?

Those questions remain unanswered as the team’s regular season opener is less than five weeks away.

I see this team finishing with 7-9 wins just like every other (frank)ing year. They have way too much talent to only get 3 wins. Even Rex thinks they're pretty good, and he just got poop canned by the team.

That's a coach's dream, to have that kind of prediction because there is no pressure on you, but I think that is total bull. If that is the case, why was I fired when I was fired if that's how bad this team was? So, I don't get that. To saddle them with four wins, I totally disagree with that.

Still, all those guys I listed were 22 or older before they had a breakout season and their best seasons were either those years, or around 24-26.

Just because he hasn't had a breakout year doesn't mean he won't as evidenced by a bunch of really, really good players that were in the league for 3 or 4 years before they finally "got it".

Some were laughable busts, some are Crosby and Ovechkin and Malkin... And a lot of guys are in between. Even players that turned out to be really good players.

I think maybe I misunderstood what you meant

To me, Reinhart stayed the same for the most part from year 1/2. Which was a pretty good player. I don't think it's the same as an 18 year old entering the league, and slowly progressing as he fills out.

Sam is 21, has all the mental aspects down. I just think who he is now, is 90% of what he will be 3 years from now. Which isn't a bust by the way

I have always seen Reinhart as a Sedin type player. Same size and style of play. Very intelligent on the ice but with no flashy set of skills. Will average around 0.85 ppg over the length of his career like the Sedin's. The Sedin's have gone through their entire career being under appreciated by everyone, including many Canuck fans. Ironically, they both might have a chance at the HOF when their careers are done.

Same type of player, yes. But Reinhart hasnt had the struggle the Sedin's did in there early years.

I just think it's more possible he stays in the 45-55 point range, than it is he jumps to 65-70 points.

I think Sam ends up being a 58-63 point guy the rest of his career

Some seasons he might get the 65-68 points other years 52-55 points

But with how low scoring is these days I would be happy with that.
