how this is even a discussion is really beyond me. sure it is hard to intentionally "tank" in football but that anyone would say we would be better off for the future not having a franchise qb is just ridiculous. who cares if they win 7 or 9 games this year? youre still right back here next year blowing smoke and hoping and praying for a miracle just to get in the playoffs. forget actually having a realistic chance of playing in february.

And the worse we do...
the easier it is to trade up if needed

Even at 10wins...
we aren't beating the Pats or Raiders or Steelers on the road in the playoffs

What's the most important position in all of sports?
QUARTERBACK

It's not hard to realize that this is the draft where we should be doing everything in our power to try & acquire our guy

No more of this Losman, Ej, etc etc BULLSH!T
Time to draft a FRANCHISE QB

Sure, but then they wouldn't have THIS Bills team.

No McCoy, probably no Watkins and I doubt the defense wouldn't have many playmakers

Also this team last year was good enough to make the playoffs with a defense that wasn't hot garbage

- Stripes77

i have no idea what this means.
lets all just be content saying the bills should have been good enough to be in the playoffs (not near good enough to actually win a superbowl) for the next 20 years.
hooray.

Proof you're not living in reality

A team good enough to make the playoffs doesn't get "swept" by the Jets last year
A team good enough for the playoffs doesn't go 2-6 in games decided by 7pts or less

Is that team horrible?
No, they're mediocre for the most part...
with the Capability to pull upsets on some days just like every NFL team

Ya know how I know we weren't "good enough for the playoffs" though?
Because we WEREN'T IN THE PLAYOFFS

U can take a whole hell of a lot of teams & say
"if they won these 4 games they'd have made it"

that's a BULLSH!T argument

EVERY SINGLE YEAR
we say something like...

"Oh, if we only won this game or that game" blah blah blah

Ya know why FOR 17 YEARS we haven't been able to win those games the following season...

BECAUSE WE HAVENT GOTTEN A QUARTERBACK

It's really not rocket science
It's that simple

implying in any way that kale is better than pastrami is more thick skulled than this little ongoing bills playoff argument.

Holy (frank) are you serious?

They were 10th in the league in scoring

But 20th in the league in points against

The lost to the Jets(the (frank)ing Jets and Ryan Fitzpatrick) in week 3 giving up 37 points (they scored 31)
Lost to Miami in week 8 giving up 28 they scored 25
lost to Seattle in week 9 giving up 31 they scored 25
They had a 24 to 3 lead against the Raiders and lost 38-24
Lost to Miami in OT when they scored 31
The last game of the year against the Jets doesn't count no Tyrod no effort no nothing

So the only loss there that I will say the offense poop the bed was the Raiders game, the wheels fell off on both sides of the ball

So you tell me how that offense wasn't good enough to make the playoffs

The Browns did it right IMO

They did the tear down, but were patient not to draft any QB (Like Wentz, who I think is very mediocre)

They stockpiled cap space and picks, and when they draft or find their QB, he will walk in to a bevy of weapons, and cap space to get weapons.

Correct

The Bills, Jets, or any other team will not be in the position to set that rookie QB up for success.

That is my point.

Not to mention that if the Bills were to trade McCoy or cut other players the cap hit against them would be awful. They are not in a good position to "tank" for a QB.

WTF is in the water out there in California? Kale as pizza dough?

I don't mind kale in general, but in no way should it ever be a substitute for pizza dough.

This is true I was just talking about the losses where they would have won because they scored points.

The week one loss to the Ravens (7 points), the week 14 loss to the Steelers (20 points) and the week 17 loss to the Jets (10 points) were the only 3 weeks the offense didn't score at least 24 points in a loss

I should say, the Browns *look like* they are doing it right.

It's only right if it works.

But I'd take what they are doing over what the Bills have done, or Jets are doing now

I agree when it comes to the Jets

Which is my ENTIRE point

The complete tank and tear down in football will take longer to rebuild.

I bet David Carr would have had a better career had the entire team around him wouldn't have been a complete mess!

This isn't hockey where you draft players and let them develop in the minors or juniors. You need to have a team around said "Franchise QB" that can put that player in a position to succeed.

It's tougher in football. Guys can leave after 3 and 4 years from when they are drafted.

Striker. Without a good striker a soccer team just can not win. And why Ronaldo and Messi are global icons. They are making $173M combined this year $93M and $80M respectively between celery and endorsements. Good for the 1st and 3rd highest paid athletes in 2017. LeBron is second because of his $55M in endorsements.

Also we can give up up to 4 first round picks over the next 3 years. It will not be hard to get even the first overall pick to get whomever is deemed the next Manning. It won't take that however. It will probably take 2 firsts(both in 2018), a second, a couple of thirds. If need be we can throw another second into the deal. And that's just for the first overall, every pick after that and the price drops dramatically.

The last 14 seasons, the AFC Championship game included one of either Brady, Manning, or Roethlisberger.

Only one time in the past 14 seasons did the Super Bowl not include one of those quaterbacks. Joe Flacco in 2012.

It's not. The fact that people put it in smoothies to cover the taste means it's not very good.

You don't put a bacon cheeseburger into a smoothie, because it tastes absolutely amazing on its own.
