I want the 3rd, but it really is a bad look if you cut a guy after signing him to a 4 year deal

- sbroads24

I'd rather have the 3rd,
but I agree it would look bad

probably

heard botts was firm that any trade had to be done by training camp

may be a moving part one way or another added (small piece)

but it's ror and kane and a pick for extended jt

skunk not in conversation

this is from my good source, the pommer, boldin source

- homiedclown

Unless Kane doesn't want to be here that's a lot of goals to give up. JT can be a 30+ goal guy, but you're giving up 45-50 goals to get him. Unless they think one of the kids is ready to score 20 goals, which is probably a stretch.

If Kane is gone either way, where do I sign?

For Duchene, only teams with up and coming players is getting that deal done. They would want prospects and maybe a 1st involved. Nothing less than that. Everyone in deal would be under 24-25 years old. Really the player Colorado should be targeting is .... Duchene. That's why that was such a weird rumor to start.
- Lilroot9

I wanna watch Nashville win the cup. If they had Johansson, Duchene and bonino down the middle, they could, even if it costs them Ellis + a pick and prospect. If I were the owner, I would tell the GM to go get him before it's too late

Yea I think they have tried and every time they meet the demands for Duchene, the demands go up.

OK. Sorry. That is what I have read. But I do think Colorado should be keeping Duchene, Landy, Barrie.

yeah lots of venom is being spewed out there, lots of speculation from bad sources. Its like telephone tag...did you hear this, before you know it it was Duchene for Subban++ and he still turned it down.

What one of the BSN guys at the draft heard on the floor when he was covering it was Avs wanted at least Ellis to be in a deal so they get a guaranteed NHL player out it.

Preds didnt want to move any of their NHL Dmen, they really love Fabbro and wouldnt add much more to him. Girard was the one D prospet they were willing ot move in a futures deal and thats way to much risk to take on

If you factor in who's replacing Kane, it's less of a loss.

If Baptiste or Nylander or whoever can pot 10-15, you arent losing anything

With 2 years left on the deal, the value will never be higher than the week before training camp opens this year. The value will decline every day after so sakic would do well to sell now-ish

Take Moulson back instead of Kane and the sabres will throw in another 1st

Also, that Clutterbuck contract is still bonkers

- jcragcrumple

With his buddy JT heading the other way, Moulson will drink from the fountain of youth and pop 30 goals like it's 2010 all over again....

I dunno about declining every day afterwards.

From now on till July 1st the value is basically the same, if he isnt traded bc of bad offers and has (and will) have a better productive year combined with the fact teams who want to trade for him will have the ability to extend him July 1st.

Unless he has a double down terrible season, the value will stay the same IMO

I'm assuming that Tavares would have a NTC in his new deal,
even though he knows he's getting traded
Just to assure he doesn't get dealt somewhere he doesn't wanna go

My point is...
We'd only get him if he wants to come here

And if he wants to come HERE...
why not just wait till he's UFA?

I disagree because term matters toward selling the fan base on a trade where you have to give up a lot to get the player. And if the team is Nashville, they'd view their cup window as firmly open for the next two years, so they want that time to find the team chemistry. Sakic should understand that teams are more willing to overpay on a trade for a player they control for 2 years than a player they aquire at the deadline for 4 months

I see your point but if the offers are low now (it appears GMs are trying to buy him based on last years output vs his 8-9 seasons of production). I dont see how the value will be lower now vs what they apparently been offered.

If he plays with the Avs next year, starts producing and teams that want him struggle out the gate, cant see how the value will be less.

2 years of Duchene vs 1 year and knowing if he is going to extend or not right then and there if hes moved July 2018...I dont see much shift there. Look at ROR (please now trolling of the players...most I love FYI) but he was moved with 1 year left on his contract before he could extend and 2 former 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks (player and pick) were moved for him and McGinn.

Dont see how he can ask for anything less than that. Its been 3-4 pieces from the deadline last year and it wil probably still be that all next year. The precedents have been set

Maybe, I honestly have no idea what sakic has been offered other than what you said the preds offered at the draft
