If I am Tavares, and I actually make it to free agency, there is no way I sign with Vancouver lol.

If I was him I'd sign with the Panthers.

If you are Tavares, and you are evaluating how important it is, to not only cash in on a big pay day, but also play somewhere where the team is close to being cup contenders, where you pay half the tax as other states, and reside in a place where the sun is out 9/10 of the year, beaches are nice, and you can buy a 5 acre property for 800k, why the F*** would he choose Vancouver lol.

Imo. he'll definitely go to FA. Been told by a guy who used to work for the Islanders (take it for what it's worth). The team has no home coming up. I'd imagine the usual suspects, California teams, Florida teams, New England teams, will sign him.

Is with the dollar/tax system/poopty weather will continue to look elsewhere

He wouldn't, but dreamers need something to talk about here so they come up with dumber ideas than EK.

Being put on PP1, it would be pretty safe to assume that you are given more PP minutes, than not only PP2, but the rest of the team.

Doesn't answer the question.
Poster said he hogged the time as if he is the coach.
Thanks for the obvious though lol

My turn for the obvious...
He WILL cash in no matter what.
Florida is not close to being a contender.
Beaches & weather hardly matter if he wants to win a cup which he does.
Home costs r irrelevant to him making 10m a season & resale is always there.
He won't choose Vancouver in our current state.
If he goes UFA & at 10m/yr what team fits the bill that can afford the cap?
Idk the answer to that til this season plays out tbh

He also said he mis-used the word "hogged". I am not really sure what explanation you are looking for.

I never said Florida, I never mentioned any specifics teams, I simply mentioned reasons why he WOULDN'T want to sign in Vancouver.

Tampa Bay and DAL though, if we are talking in terms of Taxes and being contenders, are obvious choices over a team like the Canucks.

No cap space in Tampa Bay
Dallas has beaches? Though they might be a good option.
I get why Vancouver is not an option.

I don't remember saying Dallas had beaches either.. I feel like you are trying to argue for the sake or arguing at this point.

I am not really sure why you are trying to break down my points, I am simply trying to bring the hysteria down a bit, for people who are thinking that John Tavares is an actual option for Vancouver in free Agency.

Sounds like a match made for the Preds shore up RJ with one two punch and slide aging Bonino to familiar 3C role. With that D and cheap fast wingers it's a good move.

Not sure Tavares plays 3C for close to 10 million a season when you have Johanson and Forsberg but if you put him on the wing, barring a trade to open a bit of cap space, you have a deadly team.
