Hope. There are a lot of players in this upcoming draft who could help Van. If a team is offering a first for anyone not named Bo, OJ, BB or anyone prospect. It should be taken. - manvanfan

Right. You need balance. Codes concentrate to stockpile D suggestion seems limiting. Though looking at draft class for 2018 if JB has a shot at adding #1D he'll take it. Then look to center needs where this class is good just not as deep on options as 2017 was that had less good D options too. - Nuck4U
Its easy to stockpile when you eseentially have 2 or 3 defensive prospects who have been drafted in the ladt 4 drafts. Apart from juolevi and brisebois we are lacking hard at A list defensive prospects. Chatfield and stecher are great, but im 100% not convinced a stanley cup is in our future lol |

Retaining salary would not be an option. Basically if someone would bite on Sutters contract we would have to look at it. Wouldn't get much in return but it would free up some valuable cash and space for us. I like what Sutter brings but we could spend a bit more wisely. - LordHumungous
They should offload Sutter without rentention. Pens can only do this season if Nucks retained but we know that's not happening lol. Agree Sutter helps and is probably here for a couple seasons more as we wait for center prospects to develop. |

BPA when drafting, don't fall in love with your pics and trade for need?
or draft for need in the later rounds.
I hate hard and fast rules when there are going to be exceptions. |

Yes. Just don't forget Tree either as tradable asset or returning player. Rathbone also long way away is an intriguing add too.
Plus as you look at prospects for this 2018 draft pretty sure JB is grabbing D with at least one of his first 2 picks. |

What's wrong with Dahlen, he's a solid Nucks prospect |

Would like to see TG tries these combos out of camp to fix the PK and keep scores closer. You know stay competitive for development.
PK1 Sutter Bo Edler Guddy - LH & RH center and punishing D
PK2 Burmistrov Granlund Hutton Tanev- same above but Tanev steers Hutton |

They are almost too frequent in trading. Half that list is gone. They should have traded for a young #1 like SJ did. |

[quote=CanuckDon] you know what I meant. I can't even spell his name because I don't give a frank. Overrated and the chance of us picking him are probably 5%.

For the record, SJ didn't even consider Burns a top 4 D at first, they even converted him to be a bottom six winger for a couple of years until injuries/FA forced them to play him as a D-man in their top 4 |

Agree but another additional 50 points sure wouldn't hurt this club. You could shelter Jagr's lack of speed by PP time and 3-4 line duties. Plus he would put asses in the seats. Sure might be looked at as a gimmick but just maybe he could provide some 'actual' leadership here. I wouldn't be opposed to the signing as it would be cheap and would basically guarantee us 40-50 points. Considering where this club is going to be for most of the season in the standings it would not hurt us one bit.
I get the speed aspect of it though and understand why teams won't risk it…just would be kinda cool to see him on the PP here. - LordHumungous
Jagr would not get 50 pts here. Maybe only half |
