I don't know why anybody even tries to reason with him on a logical basis when he has come right out and admiited his dislike for Kane is based on disappointment over Myers, and now today he says he doesn't think the trade is unfair he was just excited to see Sammy. It's obviously not based on rational evaluation, he admits as much himself.

in a single fancy stat presented there, yes. There a lot of pieces to the whole picture. That would be my argument for him. That usage, role and coaching have produced a worst case scenario for him.

They asked an offensive d-man to play like a defensive specialist. No reason why he cant produce 5v5 as well in the right role

And as far as his area of responsibility he has been successful at it. He's only one guy out there. That's why I'm not a huge fan of corsi as an individual stat. When you look at the heat map it's obvious that shots don't get by him, but rather on the other side.

Trades happen, but trades that make your team worse after most of the tickets have been sold is dishonest IMO. This is why people don't trust Brandon, and Pegula to a lesser extent. No one can convince me this trade makes us better this year, and people were under the impression that playoffs were still a goal this year
