Gee - let's stick to hockey - after you get your political comment in.
Why is everything nowadays Trump and on the alt-right called "Islamic terrorism" - I don't say a Trump and is anti-Semitic and racist - just that many of his staff and associates are i(Brannon, Gorka, Sessions, Jones, Stone) - and he ran a very racist and anti-Semitic campaign (Jewish stars and money falling on Hilary in one ad, Pepe the Frog in one, naming only Jewish bankers in an ad blasting glabalization and banking).
These things aren't coincidences done out of ignorance.
So much for politics. - StLBravesFan

Shame on you. You can be better. Rise above the impulse to share your political opinion in this blog. You are the only one who cares what your political opinion is and you already know it - so there is nothing to be gained by expressing it here other than to stir up trouble.

Eddie O diagnosed and treated for colon cancer. Sounds like he caught it before it got to stage 4.
Bryan Murray just succumbed to colon cancer.
When you have your health you have much to be thankful for. They say when you pass age 19 and hit age 4o,, the time went by so fast. Then you are 50. Well 50 is not 60. But then you close in on 60, and I suppose you say, it ain't 70. You see how this goes.
Life is so precious. We enjoy our hockey. But we have life outside of hockey.
I wish all of us on hockeybuzz the best of health and please be pro active in maintaining good health.

You are correct. Their agents will contact interested teams so they can pitch to them, unless both of these kids have their minds made up,
to sign with one specific team,
to sign with a team that "appears" to have offered them a nhl spot before training camp,
or to listen to the pitches, and look out for themselves by feeling the most comfortable with team(s) the decide on signing with.
Let's just hope our young forward Dylan Sikura, who was 149 pounds when the selected him three picks from the seventh round in 2014 decides he fits with the Blackhawks. |

Sikura has stated on multiple occasions that he has every intention of signing with the Hawks as soon as his season concludes ala Hayden. Actually went out of his way to state how supportive the Hawks were of his decision to finish his career/education at Northeastern. |

Eh, shame on you for only chastising one commenter instead of the ones that actually brought politics up. STL's first comment was NHL related - the use of the Red Wings logo in a political march that also had people with literal Nazi flags and anti-semitic posters. That's just general news related to the NHL and stating of facts, which is appropriate on this blog about, you know, the NHL. The other posters were the ones that responded "no politics, except after I say my political opinions." Idk why you didn't you call them out for causing trouble too.
If you guys don't want politics discussed here, then stop responding to any post that may lean slightly political and let the discussion end. It's not rocket science to know that replying and adding further commentary just extends the discussion. Don't even reply to me if you really care about it stopping. Just let it fade away. |

I did not see or hear anything about the seriousness of his cancer, just that he is being treated by very good health care and expects to return to the broadcast booth I BELIEVE this fall. So my conjecture is not stage four. But u would say not a quick procedure and out, because he is going to do chemo. That he showed up for Rick Farron is both gratifying and high class given Eddie's own health. It humbles you when you loose ability or health. We should remember to give thanks to our own religious held belief before we watch hockey on Sunday's. When others fall or struggle, we have to wonder if ourselves and our loved ones turn is around the corner. Life can be grandiose one moment and vanishes like a vapor in only a moment |

My first comment after he posted the link to the news story about the winged wheel and then several other took the bait and made political comments was not directed at any one individual, it was a call to not post political opinion or commentary. I singled him out in a subsequent post because he exacerbated the problem by naming names and accusing them of being racist. That was an intentional act to either (1) virtue signal, or (2) stir the pot. That is why I singled him out.
Let me add, shame on you for sticking your nose in when you don't take the time to examine the facts. |

Holy poop, I missed a bit over the weekend. I vowed to stop replying to Z3 a while back as he has one opinion and will NOT listen to anything that doesn't agree, then offers almost the most backwards ideas on hockey I've ever seen. |

You went after him specifically after others threw their direct political opinions in the comments, while simultaneously saying to shut up about politics. You're doing the same thing as all of the others while maintaining neutrality. Political opinions aside, your replies are disrespecful to others on the board. |

Boo, you say your comment was not directed at any one individual and then admit you singled him out (twice). Maybe you should focus on not being a hypocrite instead of what others do on this board. |

Reading comprehension is a skill you're not very good at, which is surprising given your impressive ability for statistical analysis.
To help you out, I'll simplify. My first post on the topic DID NOT single him out and in fact was after a couple other posters replied to his post so it was not obvious it was directed at him. I made the post generic expressly for the purpose to not point at one individual.
My second post did single him out for the reason I gave in my reply to you.
As for being a hypocrite, I've readily admitted in the past that I've allowed myself to get drawn into political and other hot button topics not germane to this blog and I've offered mea culpas when those occasions called for it. So, I'm not pure as the driven snow - but I'm no hypocrite - I admit when I was wrong for doing what I call for others to not do. I'm never tried to hide my "sins".

Except for my first post here - which, as Lady said, had hockey content (the Red Wings logo) - my messages have been responses to other posters.
At my age, I will play the "dotty old man" card - I will continue to post in response to what I consider to incorrect messages concerning racist and anti-Semitic issues.
If you don't think Steve Bannon is a racist - consider that he was the main power at Breitbart, which he turned into a forum and a home for spreading the alt-right message. If the so-called alt-right (a very politically correct term, BTW) was EVER more than an coming together of racists and anti-Semites, then it has been completely taken over by the Richard Spencers, David Dukes, Milo Yiannopoulos and others - Spencer and Dukes were in Charlottesville, leading the followers carrying racist and nazi emblems, shouting "Blood and Soil" and "You will never replace me - JEW will never replace me...."
If you don't think that Sebastian Gorka is an anti-Semite, he has been strongly linked to - and has been shown to have membership in - right-wing fascist anti-Semitic Hungarian (his native land) groups, which he illegally did not disclose on his immigration and citizenship applications.
If you don't think the John Sessions is a racist - well, here I'm on lesser grounds - but he is strongly anti-immigrant (illegal or not), and strongly opposed to the necessary civil rights and voting rights regulations that the Justice department has followed for several administrations.
Those were the ones I called racist and anti-Semitic - if you disagree, OK - to be arrogant, you're wrong.
Now, if you don't like my posting messages like these - then give me arguments with some logic and facts behind them - not personal attacks on me or on anyone defending me (Lady's reading comprehension is pretty good, BTW - better than most).
Or - don't respond at all.
BTW - I'm still waiting for Spanky to define who "APAC" is - I have an idea which group he is referring to, but I would like confirmation. |

Yes, Mags - I fear that is who he was referencing.
While I am a strong supporter of the state of Israel, I don't support AIPAC's views on the policies of its current government - and I wonder why Spanky would bring that up. |

Toews should be in the gym. He just does not care about hockey and is not committed to the Blackhawks any more!!! (Sarcasm - not directed at you.... I am just referring to many previous posts this summer critical of Toews when he is pictured doing literally anything besides working out.)

I have not made political comments in this thread so your comment that I'm doing the same thing while maintaining neutrality in nonsensical. I tried to do what was essentially a PSA for the betterment of all those who come here for an escape from political topics. The reason I singled him out, other than it would be a tedious task to post some boilerplate PSA to every comment that crossed into political commentary, is because his post was the most incendiary by accusing specific individuals of racism. The other comments were more generic responses, his had the express objective of heightening the dialogue.
I post on other sites that are dedicated to current events, politics, ideology, etc, so I'm in favor of debate on all of the above, but this isn't the appropriate place for those topics. You want to express your opinion on anything that moves you - good, go do it, but don't do it here where many of us come to get away from that sh|t.
