For the most part, I agree
U could argue Bledsoe & Flutie
However...
we aren't competing against the last 17 Bills teams,
ARE WE?
Obviously not
So I just don't see how it matters?
Is Tyrod good enough to lead us to Playoff victories?
That's the question
Seems like U think yes...
hard for me to say that when he can't drive us down the field to win games in the regular season
And hasn't even gotten us to the playoffs
Even if he were a top15 QB (which he's not)...
that's still likely not good enough to be a Super Bowl contender
And idk about you...
but that's what I want
Not a .500 team that could've made the playoffs IF, IF, IF, etc - jdfitz77
If tyrod takes a step forward.
you then have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds to improve the team
say a stud wr and db in the first rd
a lb and o lineman in the second rd
a db and rb in the 3rd rd
thats 6 potential difference makers to add next year, instead of moving 3 picks to get a qb that may hit and 3 other picks

All of that is predicated on a GIANT "if"
What if he just stays at what he is?
a 3,000yd passer who runs isn't good enough to get us where we want
That's a more likely scenario than him turning into a Russell Wilson type
How about this?
What IF...
We pick a QB without even having to move up
And still get another 5 starters
Regardless...
This team will NOT take a step forward without a Franchise QB
The Bills need their "Eichel"

Yes, it was me and I wasn't making any arguments for or against Reed, but the fact is the average yardage is much higher now than at any other time in NFL history.
And I never said to halve Gretzky's stats. Yes, they are inflated because of how many more goals were scored then, but I bet if you did the actual math he'd still have the most points.
Stop putting words in my mouth.
Andre Reed is a HOFer. If Watkins ends his career like Reed did, then he might be too. I say might because it's taking so long for TO to get in. He should've been a first ballot unanimous decision, the fact that he's not is a (frank)ing travesty. So a player that rocks the boat like Sammy might have to wait a while, if he puts up the numbers.
Try this on for size. The 83-84 Penguins, the ones who tanked for Lemieux, scored 62 goals less than the league average had a player named Mike Bullard, who scored 92 (frank)ing points in 76 games. 51 goals 41 assists. The Penguins had 38 points that year in 80 games. He even went on to hit 103 points in 87-88 with the Flames in 79 games. He had a respectable career with 674 points in 727 games, and I bet until about 5 seconds ago you'd never heard of him. He had a higher points per game average than Tavares, Zetterberg, Benn, Giroux, Kopitar, Toews, Hossa, Iginla, Eric Staal, Henrik Sedin, Corey Perry, and Daniel Sedin... All (active)greats of this generation of players and he was a nobody in the 80's. And better than Mike Modano, Martin St.Louis, Roenick, Shanahan, and Tkachuk. That's how stupidly high scoring the 80's was.
Edit: In 83-84 the league leading SV% was .903. The HOFer Billy Smith posted an .896. GAA league leader was 2.66 and it only took to 4th to get over 3.

That's some good work and some sobering data, Bandit. Funny that the only time I really was iffy about the NHL and the direction it was heading was the neutral-zone trap/Devils years. Nowadays the game is fast turning into that and it's really sad to watch. When elite level superstars are barely scraping together point-per-game seasons, that's a pretty good indicator the game has gotten bogged down.
