I agree this is a huge year for him...If he doesn't solidify his spot as a top 6 forward this year it won't be because of skill it will be because of a lack of heart/ grit - CanuckDon

I would go
JV Burmistrov DD as bottom line Gaunce Boucher as extras - VANTEL
My choice & highly possible at that๐๐ |

Sven is VERY skilled. Others I don't care about - CanuckDon
I like Sven but he still has to get better....25g & take it to another level yet.
Rodin its speed & scoring & 2-way play IMO
Boucher as a PP sniper & better solid 2-way play to get into the line-up & minutes. He's in tough so prolly the press box on a show me year like Rodin. |

To get better value from them you must keep them so this is not correct - VANTEL
They are on one year contracts or have a year left so it's not a keep. Who stays or who has manged to work up value for a trade later is the bonus. Labate, Guance, DD etc don't have that upside. |

I think Dorsett does have trade value for a playoff team . 3 or 4 |

Yes at this stage might fetch a fourth. His contract is a problem. He'd still have to prove himself this season. But if the others prove out they could fetch a 2nd...maybe a mid-low first for Sven. Perhaps trade for a struggling prospect who needs a change of scenery.
That's the upside worth the risk of pumping them up on this non-playoff team. Just saying goals and assists are an easier sell to acquire futures over grit and snarl. |

yeah but we don't have much of a choice do we? Guys like JV, McEwen, Gadjovich aren't ready yet. So lets keep Dorsett in so he can keep skating down the ice at full speed then falling down right before he attempts to hit someone, or missing the net with shots, or losing fights, or not scoring - all the things he does best.
Or we could continue to send in Gaunce, Chaput and Megna to fill the net and lay the body. I do agree that we have a bunch of Mason Raymonds, its just a matter of which Mason do you want? Mason Gaunce or Mason Boucher? I'll take Bouchers 5 goals in 27 games in a heartbeat and i'll take Mason Goldobin over Mason Megna too.... - Brooks_Light
Sounds good. The Canuck snarl and skill players are developing. Turn the extra skill and soft Canuck forwards into futures. Flames did it to Canucks. Other teams have managed that too. There are teams always looking for offense to retool. |

Did Jimmy strain himself at the dealership or grocery aisle...
Though this Canuck prospect Elias Pettersson.... easier to go with EP
He's good... see:

And mine is until he plays some real games and minutes (more than 3) then we can judge where he should be. Sven and Granlund surprised, why can't Rodin? - Brooks_Light

It wasn't me who was saying Bailey. I admit I don't have a problem with Turris or Tavares (whom is very unlikely)
I would choose either over Eriksson - VANTEL
Im really not sure why anyone thinks tavares is signing here |

Nope, cus I don't think like that. I see promise in Sven and Granlund. The other two I just don't know yet.
You kinda speak in absolutes, as if you know the outcome of these guys and their futures, and I simply disagree with that. Guys like Gaunce, Chaput, Megna, Dorsett, have been given a shot and I don't wish to see anymore of them. Guys like Boucher, Goldobin, Rodin, Molino, I wanna see them - at least - get the same shot, before we decide their fate.
You're probably right and surely some of these guys won't work out but lets see after say 40-50 games. - Brooks_Light
he can state his opinion and we shouldn't judge on his expressive style.
Many many people here state things like "this is happening, book it" ....ridiculous but what they're essentially saying is 'this is what I firmly believe and Im expressing that' and there is nothing wrong with that |

I don't get giddy over a gimmick shootout move.
Paterson, Peterson Petterson know different than someone misspelling Gaunce as Guance or Gaudette as Guadette.

I was really unsure about that Gaudette kid but I'm warming up to him wanting to be a Canuck. I had my doubts. |

You asked about EP's hip. He couldn't make that move if it wasn't good.
But don't get down on Don for his misspellings. He already said: "if Guancy(sic) scores he'll spelll it Gaunce." As for Gaudette people will know him well soon enough as he's a keeper |

He will be a solid nhl er. Decent contributer that should be on 3rd line and move up as needed. |

Come on it's more then that. He's got the hunger, willing to hit and stick it. The grit and two way tools of a complete center. Recently has developed adding that shot element. Still ways to go but it is looking good. Sound familiar... kid could work his way up to be the next Kesler without the douche part. |

Canucks need more skill players like Pettersson, not a lot of pure skill guys in the system yet. IMO you can't win unless you have those guys. Thus the draft and develop for me and why I keep beating that drum. |
