They need a few more good drafts and some development time to bring in the new. |

I think Bo and Granlund are now our two best forwards and should be top line. - VANTEL
I guess it is what it is. a team in transition.
LE might have a big year. or suck balls.
If the club is relatively healthy and Chaput and Megna are up for most of the season I will be disappointed. then again, if our prospects are in the AHL developing, and we suck, maybe that is better for the long run.
trying times. |

Yeah, it's gonna be hard to get used to.
I'm just kidding with Lefty. He enjoyed our mistakes and mishaps blogs. Simmer down everyone.

JV and McCann made the club when they did because we really sucked, they were better than the scrubs we could have played there instead. some of it was marketing I think too.
But them being better doesn't necessarily mean they should have played in the NHL instead of junior for their development.
we are in trouble... not expected to make the post season. |

Say you took out all the prospects there still isn't enough room on roster for Gaunce, Burmistrov, Rodin, DD, Boucher, Chaput and Megna. At least two must go. My guess Megna is a definite and Chaput likely.
But you know a couple prospects will stick so that makes it four of the latter realistically. |

The difference is the prospects we are talking about have already played in the minors. JV and JM came right in from Jr. |

gonna be a tough four years but we'll get through it and rise again. - LeftCoaster
You'll be fine. It's fun being poop for a while. 50 years is on the high end of things admittedly.
You gotta get one of those high end guys though. Top 2 pick. For it to work in Vancouver you may have to finish 32nd this year.
Either way, it's just nice seeing you guys eat crow for a bit.
Canadian teams will rise at some point. (To be fair we probably won't ) |

Goldobin should be in the lineup.
I think Carol mentioned BB could go Utica if others step up... just to avoid others going on waivers. and buy JB some time to make moves.
And if Rodin is healthy and looks good it could get complicated.
If Biega is still with the club after camp, we are fecked. |

Do you really care if we lose Molino Rodin or Boucher? I would rank that right up there with losing Frank Coraddo.
Most people have BB in top 10 Calder running. Why would you send him down? This why it is important to move on from the old nags |

Don't see our top prospects needing 4 more years of development. That would put them into your bust category like you put JV for not making it after 2 years. There is enough prospects to come in and with the right free agents turn the ship competitive under that time.
It doesn't mean Canucks won't be looking to draft for quality players. They can always turn excessive assets into picks or trades for prospects.
But you suggesting another 4 years like the last 4 years of suckage those 8 years would put the Canucks into Laff & Oil failure. Not to mention potential for Saber, Av and Isle disgrace. You don't want to hope for any of that as a fan. |

If Rodin looks good at camp, he might have some value in a trade, sel mvp. how many clubs kept taking chances on Brunnstrom or whoever that was that came over some time back.
I don't care about Molino. Still curious about Boucher.
these are the problems we want I guess, guys stepping up, having good camps and earning spots, forcing JB to make some tough decisions. |

I think if Rodin Megna Chaput or Boucher got sent down there would be zero interest from any team |

Yes you are right on tough decisions as there isn't room for all. Molino is waiver free so no issue doing AHL development. All the other waiver bubble guy's have one way contracts on purpose to send them down for who's left standing and prospects who stick. |

I just hope they finish at the bottom and get lucky with the lotto balls for once, because I agree, you need those highend guys. Four more years of bottom ten finishes puts us in a good position to compete in six years. - LeftCoaster
This seems like it's a good year to be in the running. Some proper prospects. |

Speed was supposed to be part of his game so that injury was big for him.
If he sucks, nobody will touch him and we shouldnt car if they do.
just concerned about asset management.
It is funny because I'm not expecting a big year - making the playoffs, it is all the training camp and development stuff that seems important but we won't see the impacts until down the road.
Some players take time to get it going like a Marty St.Louis but others just never get there. most don't. |
