I just hope they finish at the bottom and get lucky with the lotto balls for once, because I agree, you need those highend guys. Four more years of bottom ten finishes puts us in a good position to compete in five to six years.

Speed was supposed to be part of his game so that injury was big for him.

If he sucks, nobody will touch him and we shouldnt car if they do.

just concerned about asset management.

It is funny because I'm not expecting a big year - making the playoffs, it is all the training camp and development stuff that seems important but we won't see the impacts until down the road.

Some players take time to get it going like a Marty St.Louis but others just never get there. most don't.

As we get better players competing for opportunity, it should become a bit more bearable. suckage will eventually turn into mediocrity and hopefully improve from there.

Against my better judgment I'll entertain this, they only truly committed to a rebuild the past two years by tanking in the new year, it doesn't matter how long they've been bad for. IMO another three years, lets say, of finishing low will give them five years of good draft positions, that's not uncommon for good teams to turn it around.

Hell that's how long Pittsburgh was at the bottom and they got two of the best centers to ever play the game in Crosby and Malkin. Building takes time.

I still believe we will be trading a D before TDL . They may go 8 D . I think a lot of jobs will be won at Training camp

The Canucks haven't been bad for four years like NU says, they've been bad for two. They've been hard to watch, but they haven't been bad for the past four years. Three years ago they had a 101 pt season, the one before that they suffered some bad injuries and finished with an 83 point season, one win away from 20th in the league.

Need some more bottom finishes and hopefully get another really good quality center.

Agree building takes time. You like debate so just giving you other angles to consider.

Like discounting assets prior to the "committed" part why wouldn't that be part of the turnaround? Demko, BB, Gaudette, even Granlund, Sven, Tree and Guddy to name some.

Maybe it's not 3 more but just 1 if you go with the five year model. The Pens sucked for lack of money. They lucked out on those generational picks to boost them and use that to invest money in the team. But generational luck isn't one to bank on for Canucks. So going with accumulation of great picks, smart trades and key UfA's.

I would like to try Loui Bo and Granlund as the top line this year. Put Boeser on the second line with the twins.
