Some dope said trade pastrnak for doughty, it only makes sense, and my response was why trade a young promising winger for a defensemen who some say McAvoy COULD become. Throwing doughty's accomplishments out there is buffoonery, McAvoy has been in the league for 2 weeks. Every player who gets drafted has a comparable based on what they bring to the table. |

Here's how good Drew Doughty is (since derp is ongoing):
- IMO the most complete defenseman in the NHL (many agree).
- Made it to the NHL as an 18-year old.
- Nominated for a Norris trophy as a 19-year old.
- Won the Stanley Cup as a 22-year old (and at 24).
- Two Olympic Gold Medals by 24.
- Has missed a total of 16 games in 9 NHL seasons while being considered one of the best all-around defensemen in the league for most of those 9 seasons.
McAvoy is negative-75 games into the "Doughty potential projection". |

Fluto Shinzawa? I didn't see it. It would be very consistent with the Bruins history of picking big lumbering slugs like Backes over the talented scoring wingers. However Sweeney has been saying he wants a faster, transition type of team. Trading PAstrnak flies in the face of that.
