A few more years of this I'm afraid, just part of the rebuilding process. |

Do you mean in Vantel dollars or CDN?
Let's just say that the same seats at the other end of the rink are 35% cheaper because it's the Canucks defensive zone for 2 periods. I argued with the Rep that that's where the game will be more often then not. The offensive end is anywhere from $900.00 to $1400.00 per seat for an 11 game pack - Bowel-Auger

I paid $1035 last season for 5 games, sets of 2 at the jets games last season. Opposing teams blue line, 1st row second deck. |

He did put up more points during their draft year. In todays NHL, Henrik would have been taken before him. |

One of the worst drafts years EVER, so lucky to have things come together in order to draft both of them.
Burkie was lucky Keenan hated Linden and traded him away, which was the best trade in Canucks history. |

Zetterberg drafted at 210 is at 904 points
Vrbata at 212 is at 609 points.
Next closest is Havlat at 540
That's usually how it is in a lot of drafts. A few players set them selves apart.
Edit: all numbers in this post are very approx but close |

Far less? I don't know, Larkin and Mantha are better than any kids we have in the NHL and they usually draft pretty well. |

Again, it took an extraordinary effort by JB and catering to Tryamkin via burning a year on his ELC and the either NHL or KHL clause in his contract to bring him over in the first place. That tells me his heart wasn't really in it. I just think his thought process went something like this: "I came over expecting to play top 4 minutes, get told I'd be slotting in there, then they draft OJ, trade for Guddy and sign Stecher who gets a spot in training camp while I am stuck in the press box for 10 games and cajoled to go play in Utica against my contract terms for 'conditioning'. Then I play well but Stecher is the flavor of the month and I am missing Russia and why should I resign when I will likely start the season as the 7th or 8th defenseman when I could play top 2 minutes in Russia for more money and play in the Olympics?" - DariusKnight
kid has no heart. left the country because he was scared of a flashy kid a quarter of his size
on other topics:
draisaitl over ekblad all day. kid is a top 5c for the next 8 years even without mcd imo.
i'll speculate over which position i'd draft #1oa much closer to the draft thanks very much
bo @ 6 could EASILY end up being value+. even if he has plateaud its not much of an overpay. |

Like I said you could be right on the above but gave you the facts on some other misstatements. I believe the AHL clause had a lot to do with his newlywed wife and his view that he's leaving KHL, which is better, to play in his dream of NHL.
I think you are on to something about the D and opportunity. Remember JB/TL talking about wealth of D and can make a trade there. The emergence of Stecher with Tree played into that. So maybe Tree believed Sbisa or someone else would be traded by TDL. That not happening and not knowing about expansion he could easily wonder how he could develop. Not only that, like you said, having Guddy back and OJ coming just made it look crowded with Edler and Tanev at the top.
So maybe the KHL is a good move for his development to get the ice time to handle the puck better for example. Others advocate players who need more icetime should take Europe league option to develop. It could work out for the Canucks as he's still a young player for a D man. |
