Sutter is overpaid by probably 500,000 per season. Not terrible but it's sort of the same as Sbisa's and dorsett's contracts. Overpaid by probably a half mill a season. Hopefully JB is learning. - manvanfan
..but they couldn't give Sbisa $500k less than he's getting per season. He was guaranteed most of his raise under the CBA. What he's worth is a different story altogether... |

How is this relevant? He just outplayed McDavid in the playoffs. 16 points in 13 games and he's got no heart?! I'll admit, I wasn't sure before the playoffs but saying "he only did good against the ducks" is just flat wrong. |

The focus was shutting down mcdavid not draisitl, he had a good season and playoff the surprise is over now see how he does, he might turn out to be elite but he isn't yet its to early, can he carry a team without mcdavid? the money the oilers gave him is superstar money and he had one good year he struggled before that. |

Superstar money is now 9-13 million. The price has gone up. That's why there are about 10-15 guys who are making that kind of money. I would pay Draisitl more than 8.5 a year to play in Van, personally. 77 points in 82 games at 20 years old is pretty rare. |

just saying 1 good year doesn't guarantee elite, if he was on the avs or nucks can he carry the team? I have my doubts he can carry a team like mcdavid or Crosby. |

If he were a Canuck it makes us a PO team. |

HE's a 2-way beast & drafted as such & would get 9m anywhere else & worth it. |

Yet we paid Sutter almost as much to produce what Bo did and hasn't and you want to pay Bo more now? This is the reason teams get in cap hell. by paying big dollars to 2nd tier stars who end up not being worth the money. If we got rid of Sutter, THEN signed Bo to a long term 5.5 mil contract I'd have no problems. You call him a high end 2C and yet fail to acknowledge that most of his points came before the AS break and then he fell off a cliff once put in a position where he was the go-to guy on the team.
Can he improve on his totals? Sure, but before committing that kind of term and money, I'd like to see him do what he did last year for at least another year or more before giving him that sort of a potential anchor contract. Again, I know I'm in the minority here, you like Bo and that's fine. I just don't see him as elite and I want to see at least another year of him being that 'high end 2C' that you believe him to be and to dump salary in the form of Sutter before I give him the big dollar/term contract is all. - DariusKnight

The premise for me to sign BO 6-8yrs is his value will outgrow his contract.
Being an obvious leader & mature etc his role will be a 200' 2C.
Long term we get a better deal eg 5.5m/8yrs.
Sign him to a bridge deal & he will get $6m or more IMO next contract.
Its more cost control & allows for prospects to stay around & get paid if worthy. Furthermore cap space control is everything now & in the future. |

Maybe people will pay more attention to what happened in Ukraine when Right Sector and Azov(huge neo nazi groups)hijacked Euromadan and overthrew a democratically elected Government and handed it over to Nationalists. Then they immediately had a illegal election that the eastern third of the nation rejected and quickly escalated into a civil war. Now these same torch wielding Nazis, teamed up with the state militias look awfully alike to me. Look in the link. Red and Black is Right Sector, Yellow is Azov. These guys can take on the Government in some parts of Ukraine and when ordered by the Government to leave the front lines, refused. They also have made a number of terrorist bombing lately sending up a elevator and blew the building apart to get just one guy..... yes I know it's far away... but take a look at the future in the USA.
https://www.google.ca/sea...YQsAQIJQ&biw=1366&bih=638
Our government supports militant Nazis when it suits them. We even give them military aid. The Islamofacists in the middle east are just a different brand of Nazi. Our governments support them when it suits them for regime change. We should be ashamed.
Edit: Right Sector is in Canada now... they refuse to call them terrorists because of the support they got in Ukraine from the west. |
